I hope Kennedy got the bottle of scotch I sent him.
The more he talks, the more swing votes I can grab in 06. Its a small investment, cheaper than replacing the shoes I wore out last GOTV in FL.

On Drudge:
Exclusive Drudge sources in the U.S. Senate's Hart Building heard Democrat Sen. Joe Biden say to Judge John G. Roberts in a private conversation on the hearing room floor: 'You're the best I've ever seen before the committee'...
Right now they are just going through the motions. I can't realistically see Judge Roberts not being confirmed.

It isn't very encouraging to realize that in order to believe Roberts won't betray conservatives, once confirmed, one has to believe that he is being disingenuous now, but once on the bench will rediscover his integrity.
The cartoon is funny in that it shows how gullible conservatives are. The Democrats are playing a role (Senator Biden to Roberts: 'You're the best I've ever seen before the committee'...) and conservatives are exhibiting the expected knee-jerk reaction - circling the wagons around a stealth liberal.

I thought Durbin's memo reference on Tuesday -- build up to impending disaster -- shades of soap opera -- to be continued --- Wednesday.
And it bombed big-time, when Roberts said he didn't participate in that meeting where the memo originated.
Durbin's memo reference fizzled and fell like a lead balloon.

I wish they would have put it on CSPAN 1 or 2. I'll have access to a TV today, but not a computer.

I have really enjoyed watching these hearings at night, on CSPAN. The Senators fumble with their notes, and ask their questions. Roberts doesn't miss a beat and launches on them, in a cool, collected manner. The ease with which he makes his arguments is astounding. His knowledge of the law, and the calm way he makes his case, makes the Senators seem so puny. LOL.
