Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco lashed out at FEMA on Tuesday, complaining the agency is moving too slowly in recovering the bodies of those killed by Hurricane Katrina.
The dead "deserve more respect than they have received," she said at state police headquarters in Baton Rouge.
She said that the Federal Emergency Management Agency still has not signed a contract with the company hired to handle the removal of the bodies, Houston-based Kenyon International Emergency Services.
Calls to a FEMA spokesman in New Orleans and the Homeland Security Department in Washington were not immediately returned.
Great comment, Blanco. This coming from someone who had no respect for their value as human beings when they were alive.
Then instead of crying into the microphone and blaming the President and Nagin and instead of standing in the back of a truck looking like a complete fool....why doesn't she roll up her sleeves, join the crowd and help look for the bodies instead of always pointing a finger at someone else. What a goof and I DO MEAN A goof! I can't get the image of her standing on the back of that truck. It'was sooooooo ridiculoous looking. She's a joke. I'm sure glad she doesn't represent me. I would be ashamed not becuase she was incompetent (although she is) but because she is such a nitwit.
I KNEW EVENTUALLY THE PRESIDENT WOULD HAVE TO BURDEN THE BLAME. BLANCO IS AN IDIOT AND I HOPE WHEN THEY DO HAVE HEARINGS, THAT SHE IS TO BURDEN MOST OF THE BLAME!
Sen Ladrieu said in a speach before Congress that even Saturday Night's Mr. Bill knew the levees needed upgrading...
So what do Mr. Bill and Sen. Landrieu have in common?
They both have NEVER introduced a bill in Congress to address the concern...of course, Mr. Bill has an excuse...he hasn't been in Congress for years as Landrieu has.
The company that wants the contract must be friends of Blanco's and she's hoping to rush the contract to prevent Fema from signing anyone else! Someone should look into the political affiliations/donations of the company, it's officers and its principals.
I can tell moveon.hate and demo leaders have her on speed dial.
Lame attempt to distract attention from her own responsibilities?? I think if you look at the most hysterical people, you will find the guilty parties. 3 come to mind: Blanco, Landrieu, and Nagin. Also, that guy from the other parrish who cried on the Sunday Talk Shows.
I can't imagine what they tell her, nor would I be surprised if they told her to say this.
That's good.
I don't see her out there picking up the corpses. This bee-yotch has enough blame to go around for everyone--except herself. It will be a miracle if this woman is not pressed to resign after this display of ineptitude.
Interesting. Odd that she didn't take more interest in these people when they were alive.
I wouldn't say a word, if I were her.
What is Blanco worried about, that the bodies are going to come back to life?
Well....they don't call her BLANK-O for nothing....
Don't kid yourself... if not this, then something else. Maybe the cleanup wouldn't be going fast enough.
On the darker side of things, she may have set back some of the hard earned respect women in leadership positions have gained. On the lighter side, many "on the fencers" will run from Hillary. The Lord do move in mysterious ways. No to be crass, but would it be worth the number of deaths incurred to keep The Beast from the Oval Office?
One good sized nuke will take care of clearing the wreckage, dealing with the bacteria and toxic waste and recovering dead bodies and you will be able to rebuild in about 10 years.
Well, Governor Blanco, I have an idea. How about you strap on your rubber gloves and get your fat ass out there in a boat?
I am sick to death of these Democrats. Grrrrr...
I'm pretty sure they'll still be dead when they get around to 'em.
