The Dem playbook
The Hill newspaper gives us a peek at the Democratic playbook for the Roberts hearings. Below are the attack assignments for the Democratic members of the Committee:
Kennedy -- civil rights
Leahy -- Bybee torture memo
Biden -- privacy, personal autonomyand the 9th Amendment
Kohl -- Property rights and civil liberties
Feinstein -- "judicial activism" and Roe vs. Wade
Feingold -- limits of executive powers
Schumer and Durbin have wisely refused to show their hand.

Be prepared for some nutty blather. Leaky isn't right.....time has caught up to him.
Leaky slurring his way through his opening statement!
Well in a way that's what this is all about. They've been eviscerating the Constitution with words for years.
Oh , this is rip -- Leaky Leahy giving Judge Roberts a lecture on the separation of powers.
My tagline is specifically aimed at Leahy ;o)a 9 minute question.
Roberts said that he never turned down anyone in his law firm that asked for assistance in arguing before the Supreme Court; that a good lawyer could argue both sides in a case. A lawyer never stands in the shoes of his client. He re-emphasized that he never turned down ANYONE in his firm who asked for assistance.
This is as we thought.
Leahy is asking about servicemen in Lebanon operation,,my word, how long ago was that?
Abortion and Homo's are the Great Issues of the day.
Yeah, it's coming...
But Specter warmed him up, Roberts will put Leaky down just like Specter.
He is their intellectual superior.
What makes him superior is his humble way.
Is there a freaking question in there somewhere?
What a butthole Specter has turned out to be!! I would expect those questions from the clymer RATS, but a repub. We always seem to fall part when victory is so close!! WE MUST NEVER EVER AGAIN VOTE RINOS IN OFFICE! Specter is a RAT in pubs clothing!! I can't believe Specter is giving him the third degree!! Simple WOW!! Bastard!! The freakin RATS must be smirking their heads off!!
He isn't right, time has caught up to him. I suspect he'll read what his staff wrote but when he strays from his prepared text he'll sound foolish.
Poor thing. He's forgotten he's already given his opening speech.
That is a tasteless remark. Hopefully, this thread will proceed with no more of those.
Why doesn't Leahy just say Iraq?
We know that's what he's talking about.
I was wondering the same thing!
He's blathering. Soldiers in Lebanon. Won't let Roberts answer!
Roberts didn't want congress dictating where the troops are stationed.
Leaky finds this "troubling"...I find it WONDERFUL that Roberts thinks the President can command the troops and not the Congress. See, the CONSTITUTION is perfectly clear, LEAKY...
If you understand Leahy's question will you tell me?
He's trying to bait Roberts into a seperation of Powers question
