Just heard the same thing, a DWP crew screwed up in the San Fernando Vally.
They just said, power is coming back up in many areas.

I heard there's a movement in California to change the name of the San Andreas Fault to Bush's Fault.

"I bet all the white people have power. (sounds familiar)"
White people get the freshest fruit at the market too.

Like you, I wonder what the Grid is setup for out here, any kind of problem however minor, setups instability.
Does it have to be that way?

Why is it that we never hear about power outages in places like Indianapolis, Louisville, or Cincinnati? How about Salt Lake City? Phoenix? San Antonio? Tampa? Are the people in those cities any less important than those in Los Angeles?
What makes Los Angeles so damned special that they have to report things like a stupid car chase live on national television.
Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to announce that George Clooney just sneezed. Please stay tuned for further developments.

Ah, nothing so enticing.
Actually it's because my last name begins with a Z. (Hint: It means "green" in Czech)
So, why does a guy go by the name BunnySl. . . oh, uh. . . .never mind.

Channel 7 just a view from their chopper of the tieup on the Freeways.....totally grid locked on the freeway they showed,,/
To: jdm
Yeah. I used to work for PG&E and Southern Cal. Edison and we totally rigged the lines to only go out in Black/HIspanica and Asian Homes. It's very simple, really!

We have all the cameras out here waiting for the next freeway chase....gotta use them whenever possible.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Robert357 is the expert. I can only speculate.
A minor line break won't make that much difference, but I'd guess that this was a major transmission line. That would make the system unstable.
We'll just have to wait for more details.

White people get the freshest fruit at the market tooUsed to be if the last black person got off the bus or left the restaurant, us white people would have a big party, and they'd never know they'd been excluded, chuckle, chuckle. Not enough of us left to do that any more. Sighs...
