What makes Los Angeles so damned special that they have to report things like a stupid car chase live on national television.
Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to announce that George Clooney just sneezed. Please stay tuned for further developments.
We have all the cameras out here waiting for the next freeway chase....gotta use them whenever possible.
It is about getting ratings and knowing if you can put fear into the American people, they will watch your telecast.
Al-Qaida tape said to threaten attacks on LA, Melbourne
Monday, September 12, 2005 at 07:08 JST NEW YORK In a communique coinciding with the fourth anniversary of the Sept 11 attacks on New York and Washington, a suspected al-Qaida operative has threatened attacks against Los Angeles and Melbourne, ABC News reported.
"Yesterday, London and Madrid. Tomorrow, Los Angeles and Melbourne, God willing. At this time, don't count on us demonstrating restraint or compassion," the 11-minute videotape reportedly warns.
It's because we are just cool, and have the best weather, and besides, we have lots of news helicopters with little to do. And hey, it gives you guys something to watch, and adds a little excitement to your life.
