Hurricane Ophelia continues to churn off the off the coast of the Carolinas with a track that has confounded computer models and meteorologists for days. Hurricane watches are issued for much of the SC and NC coastline. Northern GA and southern VA coastal areas are currently within the three day cone of uncertainty. Check local NWS service for updates.

Whole lot more of us than I realized :)
2003 nailed me - first 33 inches of snow in Dover in February and then Isabel in September after we moved to Virginia.........
CNN is reporting a tornado on the ground in Miami right now.
Lovely.
This new model run has it going up the entire east coast!

Holden Beach,Sunset Beach,Oak Island,Southport,Ocean Isle Beach,Calabash,Bald Head Island,Caswell Beach,Shallotte,Bolivia,Leland. They are all in Brunswick County, which is next to Wilmington in New Hanover County. That's where I am.
The accu-weather guy on Fox is still predicting landfall near the South-North Carolina border.
Not a pretty picture..........even though it has her back out in the ocean before getting as far north as me.
Those models have changed umpteen times in the past few days and even today. They have no clue. Watch them...they will change again and again.
Hey, what's the latest forecast for the Tidewater area of VA?
To be perfectly honest - I have absolutely no idea. I also have no idea what the latest forecast is for here on the Shore other than rain mid-week.
Done!
Hugo was a bear. So was Fran. So was Floyd. I want Ophelia to just keep heading away from land.......but I sure would like that rain.
Maryland is bad enough, but how in the world could anyone live in Delaware?
I generally listen to a Rehobeth talk station on FM, because they carry Rush. I believe that it is about 0.5 watt output, and they apparently use squirrels on a treadmill to generate the power. Unfortunately, the mortality rate among the squirrels is rather high. When I walk around the room, the signal in my CC (Communist Chinese) radio fades in and out.
When I listen to the local talk, I am amazed. Simply amazed. I grew up about 2 miles from West Virginia, and I sometimes feel that I am back there.
You'll be safe by Thanksgiving :)
Yes but what about our beachfront rental?????
