Thanks sent to you from Fort Bend County Spawn - it isn't easy to listen to the stories, but you are right, they are in shock and need to talk about it -

Well done Eakers. Have you thought to ask Petroni for a few hundred decks of cards for those stuck in the dome?

WOW! Great post.

I just got back in town and had taken donations on Sunday for Evacuees that are here in Killeen and drove past the collection point as they changed the sign to "We have what supplies we need for now"

Texas is the Greatest State in this Country.

Ping

Cool! I'm in Los Angeles, so there's not much I can do personally other than donate to the Salvation Army. But I enjoy reading accounts from folks such as yourself who've been able to personally get involved. I only drove through the Texas panhandle once, so I don't know much about Texas. Yet it must be a great state considering all the wonderful people who come from there.

WOW, excellent, I am so ashamed of myself for only donating Wal-Mart gift cards to folks at local hotels and motels.

May GOD bless you and yours for all this great work you do in his name.

Well the PanHandle is pretty bland {don't tell Squantos;O)} You need to check out Central Texas and The Hill Country if you can.

Thanks, we like it very much.

Keith, I was born and raised in the New York City metro area. Moved out to L.A. in 1976 and never looked back. As mentioned, only been through the panhandle on a drive-through. Yet when I was a young girl, my very first crush was on Roger Staubach. I've been a Dallas Cowboys fan ever since. Even throughout the Jerry Jones era -- blech! So I at least have a small connection to Texas through my loyalty to the Cowboys.

Indeed it is.

What happened to Mr. Jabbar Gibson, the young man who drove the school bus to Houston? I hope someone offers him a job.

I hope them having someone listening to there story makes there day a little better. The smallest thing could change these people's life's.

Believe me, it is! Sometimes all it takes is a sympathetic ear to make a difference. In talking about it, they're processing it, learning to deal with it -- and beginning to orient themselves away from it, to look forward instead of back.

It won't be done in a day, a week, or a year. But the sooner they begin the turning away, the sooner the healing will come. God bless you!

A lovely report for a change.

There are more; I've been reading them in the Anglican blogs. You're just not getting them from the "mainstream" media.
