Thanks -- after everything I witnessed in the last week, I am all about helping the animals. That's a very good idea.
If Oprah had given all of those poor people in New Orleans new cars, they could have driven out of town on Sunday. She owes them an apology.
When multi-millionaires have too much time on their hands... |
Check out post 299 for info on the priest at the church who is allowing pets to stay with their owners.
That's no doubt another good place to send money.
You forgot: It's the Supreme Court's fault"!
LOL!
Funny . . . while reading all these posts I kept envisioning myself creeping up behind Oprah & doing the "donkey ears." I'd give my eye teeth for it.
Everyone else here more or less verbalized what I wanted to say. But I do have to say this to Oprah & her kind:
It doesn't matter who or what is to blame. IT IS NOT YOUR PLACE to make those remarks. These celebs who exploit a national tragedy for self-aggrandizement should all be taken out somewhere & horsewhipped (or donkey-whipped). Jackasses, all of them.
For what?
The 139,000 homeless being sheltered in Texas or the hundreds of millions of dollars given to private charities for disaster relief?
Harpo isn't the only thing that's backwards.
They spent the money on other things. Putting their citizens in jeopardy.
Oprah, you owe America an apology. So does every other liberal insulting our intelligence.
Here's the website for the MS Animal Rescue League, if anyone wants to take a look:

Yeah, I was just thinking that, that Oprah sure has a lot of houses/homes available, why she isn't sending several families to live in all those rooms all over the country, if not world.
Oprah lost my respect when she didn't pin down the Mayor and ask for answers about all his b.s. and blaming.
I don't see Oprah pleading for the folks in Mississippi and Alabama...who, on the other hand, had competent local and state representatives and emergency plans that they then implemented and are. Not that they still do not need help and support, but that New Orleans' Mayor and LA's Governor are two of the most self pitying, incompetent boobs I have ever seen hold public office.
Oprah's on some sort of ego dope with these statements of hers. Help people, provide solutions, don't encourage further self pitying to and for people who have known nothing else, from the look of things, most of their lives.
Oprah had a great opportunity to actually minister in the finest sense here and instead she's encouraging people to stay down, she's part of the problem of why they are what they have been: kept down, held down, without leadership or inspiration.
But, hey, the Mayor had time to make press conference comments about the gay parade! "New Orleans is a party town...get USED to it!" He chastises people for finding that element to N.O. strange, if not objectionable, and yet about everything else, he's got blame, tears for sympathies, hands out, demands, resentments, but, hey, "party town!"
The mayor is a sick man and I'm so offended by Oprah's indulgence of this man's awful character...if she wants to help, then provide solutions. Chiding others about "pity" is the most insulting thing ABOUT the suffering and those who are I have.ever.heard.
"Where's that picture of Nagin in the yellow skweel bus coming to the rescue?"
As a gesture of compassion Oprah will once again open up her Hermes purse strings, she is going to have Nate "her" interior decorette customize and trick out a yellow short bus for ex mayor nagging Nagins personal use.
I'm sorry your mayor is an idiot, and your governor is incompetent.
Oprah baby, these so-called victims were ordered (mandatory) to evacuate the city on Sunday, the day before the hurricane hit Mississippi? They refused to evacuate! And you want me to apologize for what? Their stupidity?
But when she did the show featuring her "daughter" (her dog!), she didn't show any of these multimilliondollar mansions. She filmed it at some middle-class looking house, which was probably the maid's home or something, and claimed it was her home. What a fraud.
Ha! Her "daughter". What happened to her "son"? She had 2 of those dogs, maybe the son died. Then there were the other big dogs she kept in Indiana.
Well, I haven't watched her in many years, except for yesterday as much as I could stand.
She probably has a dog house that looks like a middle-class house, for her dogs to live in.
Her estate in Indiana was not palatial -- was probably her first house -- so maybe that's where that segment was filmed which you mentioned.
Straight from the party of apologists. Except when it comes to their own dishonorable actions, that is.
sigh...
what'd I do this time...
"Oprah said did this happen because of the color of skin..."
So. We know what she's about now. In no uncertain terms.
