That information is there to allow parents know who is in the area and may be a potential harm to there children.
By using this information to commit a crime, it may result in this information no longer being freely available.
As the father of three beautiful children, who enjoy many of the wonderful parks in Bellingham. I feel a wee bit safer with these scumbags gone.
OTOH, it is hard to sympathize with the killer, unless his own kids were targeted by the recently deceased.
Yes dammit. I have hundreds in my zip code, and have looked at every photo, haven't seen any on the street, but I find it valuable to know anyway.
Too bad i can't be on his jury...he's never
get convicted.
PLEAD NOT GUILTY!!!!
We are a nation of laws, people; you may not like the rules but you cannot take it upon yourself to break them. If you want rule changes, vote for the folks who'll change them.
Oops, sorry. Good job. I scanned the comments quickly for any mention of Megan and when I didn't see it, posted... Anyway, I'm in 100% agreement with you! If the courts handled these cases as they should've been handled, there wouldn't be any need for Megan's law. And if libs want to repeal Megan, they'd better address that first, as far as I'm concerned.
Convicted Sex Offender registries do not make a lot of sense to me. Such registries are an acknowledgement that individuals on the list are a danger to society. I say if they are a danger to society never release them back into society. This guy in Washington did what the justice system should have done.
They were not in custody which means they were an immediate danger to children. Why sacrifice more children to these predators? There is no such thing as a reformed sex offender so they need to be in jail or dead.
Codswallop. This guy premeditatedly killed two people in cold blood.
Just because you don't like the victems, you should not condone such an evil act.
If you laud this act, where does it stop? How about abortion doctors? jaywalkers?
Murder is murder. This guy should be hammered to the full extent of the law.
No one can argue with you: murder is indeed murder. However, not all killings are murders.
Too bad we couldn't convince OJ to do this. He never gets put in jail when he kills people.
Agreed. It's like having a Serial Killer Registry. I'm just sorry he turned himself in.
Honestly, I praise the man for taking out two of the most dangerous and vile kind of humans on this earth, however, he did break the law and must be punished. This is such difficult case morally. Oh well, give him probation :)
Nope! Justifable Homicide under the 'Good Samaritan Law'.
This is really bad news. The ACLU will be all over this, as they should be. First order of business: no more publicly available information of registered sex offenders.
What posessed this guy to go do this? To hunt them down and kill them. I could see if these guys had victimized his own children, but just doing this by picking a couple of guys off the Sheriffs website? This guy must have issues, I'll bet he was molested or raped when he was a kid..
Unfortunately not.
The problem is that the law is broken in the first place, that child rapists are out on the streets. That's the bigger issue that needs to be solved.
Vigilante action is the result of our legal system not producing justice.
