Monday, Sept. 5, 2005 11:38 p.m. EDT Mayor Nagin: Gov. Blanco Delayed Rescue

After days of blaming the federal officials for not responding quickly enough to the Hurricane Katrina crisis, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin praised President Bush on Monday - and charged that Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco had delayed federal rescue efforts by 24-hours.

"I'm so happy that the president came down here," Nagin said of Bush's Friday visit to Louisiana in an interview with CNN. "He came down and saw it, and he put a general on the field. His name is General Honore. And when he hit the field, we started to see action."

But Nagin had harsh words for his state's leaders, telling CNN: "What the state was doing, I don't frigging know. But I tell you, I am pissed. It wasn't adequate." The New Orleans Democrat said he urged Bush to meet privately with Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco during the visit. The meeting took place aboard Air Force One, he said.

After reviewing the crisis with Gov. Blanco, Bush summoned Nagin for a private chat - where, according to Nagin, Bush explained: "Mr. Mayor, I offered two options to the governor. I said . . . I was ready to move today. The governor said she needed 24 hours to make a decision."

Reacting to the governor's footdragging, Nagin lamented: "It would have been great if we could of left Air Force One, walked outside, and told the world that we had this all worked out."

"It didn't happen, and more people died."

"She seems to have been completely useless."

I have posted about Katrina and went thru the storm in Metairie. I am too tired to write much tonight, but I want everyone to know that Blanco is an absolute idiot! The real power behind her is her corrupt ultra liberal husband. I have people that know a lot about her family and let me say, it is nothing good. Her husband is extremely corrupt. It is a sin she was elected. I have seen much Nagin bashing and some warranted. However, he came from a business background and was trying to rid the city of corrosive political patronage. He isn't the fool people make him out to be. I will reiterate that Blanco is a hack and her husband will try is best to "profit" from this disaster. I will make it a point to speak to those who know her family and get back to you. However, understand we are in great distress over this storm. Our lives have been thrown into incredible disarray.

"The governor said she needed 24 hours to make a decision."

The LA governorette has been the MAJOR roadblock to relief efforts.

Look for the media to finally start pointing this fact out.

"I wonder if Blanco was receiving orders on what to do from the DNC?"

see my post 83. Take it from me, all her directions is from one person -- her ultra liberal, utra corrupt husband. I know people that know her family. Trust me, her husband is as crooked as the clintons. He is likely scheming as we speak to profit from this disaster.

Perhaps this will serve as some sort of wake-up call for folks to abandon support for corrupt 'Rats like this and void of character. Look what happens when idiots rule.

I'd really like someone to tell me one productive thing that the Governor of Louisiana did before, during or after this whole catastrophe. She seems to have been completely useless.

She cried on TV. She felt her pain.

" This was all to make W look like an ineffective...leader...they're trying to make the GOP look like chit...and get their power back... " .............
And hopefully, as more new revelations and the truth comes out ( can't expect the MSM to let the truth be known ) this will backfire on them ( the Liberals/Democrats ) big time.

However, understand we are in great distress over this storm. Our lives have been thrown into incredible disarray.

My parents lost everything from hurricane Agnes when I was little. They had no choice but to roll up their sleeves and start again. That's all you can do. Keep a positive attitude to protect your health, and you'll make it through this. Many have before you. Keep the faith. You WILL get through this.

"The Louisiana politicans are hearing this and are now talking about bringing them back to Louisiana and housing them in a military base."

Yeah, notice that Louisiana is talking about bringing them back as if they are property? Jesse Jackson was making that point for the dems that these people only know Louisiana and should be put right back, like they're zoo animals or something. Wanting to put them in tent cities. Dilapidated public housing, tent cities, it doesn't matter so long as they are kept in control by leftist ideology. How much do you want to bet that they approach these people with the angle that they HAVE to return to NO?

They are afraid these people will want a better life.I hope they find it in Texas, or in any other place. God Bless Texas!

They will say that the C.I.A already got to him ( Nagin ) and gave him some kind of mind altering drugs to change his stance and rhetoric on the blame game.

"She was on Larry King for an hour or so. She demanded apologies. She blubbered some more. That's a lot of work."

I'll bet that the "NOW" gang will be very proud of her performance.

They can justify anything!
