I was at a city council meeting today and the subject came up. People there were definately blaming Bush for a slow response.

Nagin may be right about Blanco - but can anyone tell me what this guy has done since the whole mess, except complain and blame others?
To: hoboken109
He sounds very unprofessional, like a hoodlum from the creep! N.O you could've done better then this MORON IDIOT!
To: ckilmer
I totally agree with your post. There was a total abdication of responsibility and leadership by the mayor and governor. Until help arrived they could have at the minimum provided security and they failed at doing even that.

After days of blaming the federal officials for not responding quickly enough to the Hurricane Katrina crisis, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin praised President Bush on Monday - and charged that Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco had delayed federal rescue efforts by 24-hours.Nagin knows which side to be on, and he's taking it. He knows the truth will come out in the wash, and it's not Bush that's going to take the hit. Thank God Bush came in to save those people from their own governor. God bless him.

I'd really like someone to tell me one productive thing that the Governor of Louisiana did before, during or after this whole catastrophe. She seems to have been completely useless. She cowered under her desk, sucking her thumb. That's something.

What city do you live in?

Looks like he hits the bong a lot to me..
I'd love to be a fly on the wall of Air Force One when Bush had a little talk with him . WEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Nagin endorsed Jindal in the governor's race over Blanco. That would seem to confirm what you said about them not ever getting along - she probably is holding a grudge against him as well.
To: BJungNan
Yes, most city council meetings are liberal so that is not a surprise.

"I wonder if Blanco was receiving orders on what to do from the DNC?"
You and I are on the same wave length, dfwgator.

"I'm so happy that the president came down here," Nagin said of Bush's Friday visit
Nagin's looking for cover under Bush's coattail. Nagin knows the Governor screwed up. Nagin knows he screwed up. Now, he is trying to shed blame to the Governor, so as to cover up his own screw up.
Neither Mayor Nagin nor Governor Blanco have much to be proud of since the hurricane threat began. Both showed gross negligence, ineptitude and incompetence. Both should be removed from office by the LA voters.

Some women should not try to be leaders. Blanco isn't a leader. The same can be said about some men.

The worm is definately starting to turn. I expect by Friday, the MSM will switch from 24/7 Bush bashing to "now is not the time to point fingers" mode.

Yes.. and not only that, but, I wonder what Jessy Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Elijha Cummings have to say after these new revelations after they have made racial fools of themselves in President Bush.
