NEW ORLEANS - Police shot eight people carrying guns on a New Orleans bridge Sunday, killing five or six of them, a deputy chief said.
Deputy Police Chief W.J. Riley said the shootings took place on the Danziger Bridge, which connects Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River.
He said he had no other details.

the police and gaurd are all using automatic wesapons and 30+ rounds down range at a group does a lot of damage.
I feel the same way - my heart wants him out front blowing these people's stories away. But I don't want to see the Office of the President sullied by him having to extrapolate truth from the lies of the frothing left who think this hurricane is a godsend to them (kinda like al queda does). But Republican lawmakers who draws $$ from the RNC had better grow a spine and get out there in force with the truth and facts.....even if it makes Mary cry some more on national tv. Ideally I would like VP Cheney to lead the charge.

This has been an urban reality a long damn time. It's even become a celebrated sub-culture. I wish folks would wake up and reject that but I'm not holding my breath.
