NEW ORLEANS - Police shot eight people carrying guns on a New Orleans bridge Sunday, killing five or six of them, a deputy chief said.
Deputy Police Chief W.J. Riley said the shootings took place on the Danziger Bridge, which connects Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River.
He said he had no other details.
I hope they are all some how stopped before they get a drop of water.

I didn't post this...but I scanned by Air American last night...and I heard the talk show host tell a caller that "it isn't time for the lawyers YET, but it will be time soon enough"...
I bet the Jersey Girls could go down to NO and tell the people how to scam the government out of billions!!!
Is that a surprise? They've been tolling the death knell for NO since Tuesday "The New Oraels that we know is GONE!!!!!!" They seem so surprised that New Orleans was caught with it's collective pants down by a major hurricane that they have forgotten Mississippi, hit just as badly, hasn't had all the media whore friendly problems as NO.
I don't know what that means?

Folks in my circle of aquaintences are. My husband and I are considered the political experts, but, some just don't want to discuss politics. Now, they've been talking to us about how bad the media is, they're finally seeing what we've been saying. We've never pushed our thoughts on them, just when the topic come up. We just tell them, welcome to reality, glad you're learning about the truth. The biggest thing we can do is keep the discussions open, that'll sway more people than the media.

I read somewhere, local news I think, that in the area across the bridge from NO there are neighborhood posses protecting from many people coming in their neighborhoods looking to steal. I think I read they shot a few.

CNN is rerunning all the people out in front of the convention center and dome waiting to be rescued..I guess they haven't heard they've all been evacuated already..
I disagree. Our troops in Iraq EXPECT to be shot at. This is a war against terrorism and the terrorists are trying to kill us first.
Our various first responders at home DO NOT expect to be shot at when an American city is devastated and we rush in to help the survivors. Imagine this happening at the WTC in 2001.
She'd better be thinking it's just fine because she told them to.
Whatever. The mods hereabouts do a fine job, by and large. I'm not going to get all worked up over the odd, occasional bit of cranky and/or hysterical arbitrariness. :)
