Per AP on the FOX News Channel
NEW ORLEANS - Police shot eight people carrying guns on a New Orleans bridge Sunday, killing five or six of them, a deputy chief said.
Deputy Police Chief W.J. Riley said the shootings took place on the Danziger Bridge, which connects Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River.
He said he had no other details.
You may be right.
All I'm saying is wait till the FACTS come in before going off the conclusion deep end.
I was going to blow my cover over there and just let out with a rant but didn't think I'd use it like that. You know one last post...
I hate that filthy place...
Was there a curfew or an order that people leave the city? Anyway didn't the Governor say to shoot on site.
Hopefully the thugs will be getting the point repeatedly at 3000 feet per second. How many freepers out there want these yahoos becoming refugees in your home town?
Wow, a modern day Battle of New Orleans or A Bridge Too Far ?
The dems are sinking fast. People who aren't political junkies, like us, are seeing right through this. The dems are only hurting themselves. Notice, Sheehan fell off the face of the planet after the support the troops rally? That started it. Now, politicizing this natural disaster is really hitting home to the center. Never mind the lunatic fringe left, they're a lost cause. But, normal, everyday people are finally learning what's really behind the democrat's policies. Let the dems keep spewing their hatred for America.
Yep,this will be portrayed as"SWB"(Shot While Black)!!
I stand corrected...:)
If there is a cordon on the city, the only way to make it effective is to deny passage to all but approved personnel. To deny passage may require the use of deadly force.
I just hope the shot people were otherwise criminals. I predict this story will fade into the black hole, and not be further mentioned.
I've said that this smells, which it definitely does. Six people dead is extraordinary, and current circumstances don't give me a lot of confidence that cool heads were at work. Beyond that I know nothing, but I sure won't blithely cheer this on like some are already doing.
But then again, if martial law was declared (and I don't know if it has yet officially been done so by NO officials); the police don't need to be fired upon first.
News to me that martial law has been declared, and even if it was, I don't think that gives police a blank check to shoot anybody who's not attacking them. If six people died I suspect it was more than just shooting somebody who wouldn't stop at a checkpoint. Six people dead means a hell of a lot of bullets fired.
True, but I advised to let it ride because the rhetoric has shifted into the sixth-gear. Now it's like playing Whack-A-Mole at the state fair.

Darn...I seem to have missed most of a really thick troll day. Looks like most of the trophies have already been bagged.
I'm not concluding anything..IMHO these weren't people I'd want to open my home to in a time of need..
Are normal, everyday people seeing through the clap-trap? Have you heard them say so? I'd be thrilled if they actually were figuring this out!
Pass me my mallet...

Not much different than what are troops are being subject to in iraq. They are assigned the task of helping to liberate a country, while being continually targeted by the enemy. Threy deserve the utmost respect for their efforts, not the scorn of the Demorats and MSM.
Those trying to retrieve law and order in NO are also subjecting themselves to continual danger, offering the thugs a potential target as they try to go about the business of cleaning up this mess.
Given the circumstances, carrying a gun on the bridge in NO is an act of provocation, and makes you an immediate suspect to those rightfully assigned to restore law and order.
I swear I heard on Fox one night, in a list of aid promised from various sources, somewhere would be sending lawyers . . . I was dozing off at the time -- though that woke me up -- so I don't recall the details.
