I think it for the people that were already in jail at one point they were herded onto one of the bridges or Interstate what happened from there I do not know but I am certain some must escaped and been responsible for some of the looting.

Yes, I saw that. They had to get the inmates out of jail.

But I don't think that's why they're building that jail, I really don't.

First, I heard but cannot prove, that the inmates in question were taken to ANOTHER jail in another state.

Second, if this were the case they certainly wouldn't rebuild this jail IN New Orleans at this time.

I believe it's part of the plan to continue this evacuation. Because at this point there's various homeowners left still in their homes and there's the CRIMINALS out and about and looting their heads off.

What surprises me, though it shouldn't, is I would never have thought of the necessity of building a jail first thing like they're doing.

Evidently it's part of the disaster plan. First, evacuate as much as possible. Second, build a jail or someplace to house recalcitrant citizens or just plain criminals so they're not out and about and adding to the mayhem.

Just a fascinating little factoid.

Y'all do know that a lot of the looting was done by COPS?

Right before they turned in their badges. I suspect these will be the first folks in that brand spanking new jail.
