I still think a major reason Blanco hired Witt is so he can do the Sunday talk shows.

Wanna bet he WON'T be on next week? (grin)

Wanted to send her an e-mail, but she does not have an e-mail address... Just a website for contacting her. So I will send this as a regular letter...

Senator Lanrieu,

I have just watched your flying interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos. Never in my 58 years have I seen such a pitifully attempt to make political hay out of a tragedy. And you picked a soapbox set upon your own constituents' pain and suffering!

Two glaring points stand out in your tirade.

One, the single backhoe you cried shame over. Anyone with eyes could see that there was only room for one backhoe on that break in the levee.

Two, you saying you would punch out anyone, including the President, if there was any criticism of local Louisiana officials after your interview aired. Consider initially that it is against federal law to threaten the President. Lastly with the fact that there were literally hundreds of buses within New Orleans proper that the Mayor could have used to evacuate the city, how can one not find fault? Those buses are now under water, but they were not flooded when the Mayor failed to use them.

I will give all I can to the charities for Louisiana relief. Yet when you run again, I will give double that amount to any one running against you.

You, Senator Lanrieu, are a disgrace to your state and the Senate of the United States.

In the hope you will understand that many, many others will feel the same way over your despicable actions, I am

Very sincerely yours,

Danny Clay Lee

I was not after the 'last-word' on that post or this one. I don't need the last word. I stated what I wrote because it is true, and if you had been paying attention since 2000, you would know that. It is funny that you were the one to respond to me, because you have been one of the most negative folks on this thread. If you go back to what I was writing here before the 2004 election, you would know just how wrong you are. If you want the last word, please take it. Just check your premises first, because if Bush were to listen to you, he would not have had so many victories over the Democrats.

ACTING? You bet. Geraldo's excessive emotional voice tone changed in a nano second when he said, "Back to you."

That simpering fool has some responsibility for the problem and he's telling some story with very specific meaning to only a few people. He has to stand up and act like a man, and that goes for the Mayor too.

And Russert should open up a Kumbaya festival, he's worthless as an objective journalist.

but the ARC has been asked by Aaron Broussard, Jefferson Parish President -- the equivalent to mayor -- to leave even JP.

He is truly insane.

Poor Mary is just upset because so many supporters are being moved out of NOLA. Plus, she loses votes with each person who realizes what happened and who's at fault.

There was food there, not enough for the number of people that showed up:
About 26,000 New Orleans residents sought refuge from Hurricane Katrina at the Superdome, which authorities describe as the "shelter of last resort," Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu said late Sunday. To help keep them fed and hydrated, the Louisiana National Guard delivered three truckloads of water and seven truckloads of MREs — short for "meals ready to eat." That's enough to supply 15,000 people for three days, according to Col. Jay Mayeaux, deputy director of the Department of Homeland Security's Office of Emergency Preparedness. Outside the New Orleans area, the Louisiana Red Cross has opened 45 emergency shelters that were serving about 3,000 evacuees as of late Sunday, said Victor Howell, who heads the Red Cross of the Louisiana Capital Area.

" I may be ready for a tin-foil hat or even the rubber-room...but it sounds to me, that some people MAY HAVE WANTED this outcome."

There was a few similar posts on the Katrina thread yesterday. A few felt it almost looks like Blanco sat on her hands (maybe getting a little advice from the Klintoons)so that they could bring down the Admin.

Russert is a lawyer and KNOWS the law limiting presidents from doing anything until requested by a state's governor. His failure to inform the public of this fact makes him a failure as a media flack as well. The question is...When is HE going to resign?

BTW - both the Miss and Ala gov's said on Fri that FEMA has been in there from day 1 and doing a great job. The gov of Ala was looking at places in his state to bring evacuees from LA and Miss

Another good question to be asking the Hysteric Leftists. Why is it the rescue operations went supplely everywhere BUT NO? If it is "All Bush's fault" why did it work so well EVERYWHERE else? What is different about NO?"

When they hem and haw, point out that they have a Democrat Mayor, and a Democrat State Gov who were slow to ask for help from the Feds. Thus after the Feds had sent out their resources to respond all of a sudden NO starts screaming ON FRIDAY about not getting enough help? They should of been asking for help on TUESDAY. I mean, think about it. The LOCALS ARE THERE. The State and Feds have to be ASKED because their is no way to KNOW what the locals need. The idea that the Feds should of just KNOWN what the City of NO and State of Louisiana needed is logically indefensible. When the say "Well it was on TV" Respond, Do you REALLY think people engaged in rescue operations over an area the size of Great Britian have TIME to watch TV?

Louisiana disaster plan, pg 13, para 5 , dated 01/00

'The primary means of hurricane evacuation will be personal vehicles. School and municipal buses, government-owned vehicles and vehicles provided by volunteer agencies may be used to provide transportation for individuals who lack transportation and require assistance in evacuating'...

To realize how much our country's media has deteriorated, remember how long it took for them to make 9-11 political. It was a LOT longer than this tragedy...it was immediate with this one. And coordinated.

but the ARC has been asked by Aaron Broussard, Jefferson Parish President -- the equivalent to mayor -- to leave even JP. I lived in Jefferson Parish. Like many of you, I saw the convoy of ARC vehicles arrive in the city, but haven't seen them since

That is an incredible find kcvl!

Other than Geraldo and Smith, FNC has done a magnificent job.

As for CNN, they have descended into the depths of depravity, IMO

"Wesley Clark is apparently a partner of Witt's in their emergency consulting business that got the contract last year to (IIRC) design plans for NO. (The other partner is also from Arkansas.)"

Arkansas, hmmm, interesting. Wonder if they've finished designing the emergency plans yet. Maybe someone from the LSM will ask to see NO's plans - nah, nevermind.
