I wonder if Tim even thought to ask Blanco and Nagin to come on the show and answer a few hard questions.

I still think a major reason Blanco hired Witt is so he can do the Sunday talk shows. More sophisticated level of double-talk. I'm surprised he's not on yet.

President of the Jefferson Parish. ......missed the name too. But he was crying because the National Guard didn't rescue someone's mother who was stranded in a nursing home on Monday. And the woman called for help on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, asking if someone was going to come rescue her. She drowned Friday night. I missed who the woman was. But as the "President of Jefferson Parish" (LA) was telling this story, he got very emotional, talking with a high voice and and tears started pouring down his face. Blaming the U.S government the whole time. Also said he's "sick of these press conferences."

Everyone is sick at the way the local authorities have treated their people, but look who is getting the blame.

Wallace has given Chertoff two opportunities to blast the idiot Democratic LA leadership, first da Mayor and then the moron governor. For da Mayor, he played the clip of him cursing over the air. Question to Chertoff: "Do comments like that bring people together or pull them apart?" Chertoff was very gallant: "Chris, a lot of people down here have been very frustrated..."

For the gov, Wallace asked Chertoff if it was true that Homeland Security had asked her very early on to let the Feds take over. Chertoff: "Chris, I'm not going to go into any private conversations we held with the leadership down here."

Good to see the administration take the high road, but politically I don't know if it's going to help them.

And the woman called for help on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday,

And NO one in the Parrish went to help her. How utterly sad and despicable

Russert has jumped the shark. To hell w/ the rescue efforts, he blames Chertoff/Bush for not evacuating everyone and then basically doing nothing. He's rabid in his sophomoric and ill-prepared questions. Now playing the race card.

Russert cannot even prepare for a show properly over the course of a whole week, let alone lift one finger to save or help anyone.

Stevens is well into his 80s. He also acknowledged recently that maybe the Kelo decision wasn't quite correct.

Wallace's interview of Chertoff was so neutral - with real questions - that any leftie will see nothing but "softball interview."

Read Post 13 of this thread. It is very reassuring.

Sounds a lot like Andrew.Lyin Lawton did the same thing to BUSH 41, failed to ask the feds or declare and then blamed a slow response bush 41.
Let's face it demagoging us is all the rats have. If people die they could car less, they will just blame it on us.

I agree! No one came to help her after all those calls to her "son?" I would move hell and high water if I got calls like that from someone I loved! Totally pathetic!

No wonder the dems are crying. All those voting machines loaded with dem votes are floating down the Mississippi.

How will they get re-elected without the vote stealing efforts of NO

Aaron Broussard (sp), from Jefferson Parrish.

He wailed "they told us, 'the cavalry's comin', the cavalry's comin', the cavalry's comin', but the cavalry never came."

Btw, each time he pronounced cavalry, "CALvary".

Wailing, wailing, crying,crying....no visible tears.

Because the school buses were designed for children they would be cramped and that they had no toilet facilities.

Neither 2 comments I would have thought would have bother the NO people especially after the squalor they had to put up with

Lord knows I admire and love this administration...but, they seemed to have long ago forgotten that they live and work in a political arena.

Unfortunately for those of us who will be left behind in 08, they're the only ones who have forgotten this.
