At one point Friday, the evacuation was interrupted briefly when school buses rolled up so some 700 guests and employees from the Hyatt Hotel could move to the head of the evacuation line much to the amazement of those who had been crammed in the stinking Superdome since last Sunday.
"How does this work? They (are) clean, they are dry, they get out ahead of us?" exclaimed Howard Blue, 22, who tried to get in their line. The National Guard blocked him as other guardsmen helped the well-dressed guests with their luggage.
The 700 had been trapped in the hotel, next to the Superdome, but conditions were considerably cleaner, even without running water, than the unsanitary crush inside the dome. The Hyatt was severely damaged by the storm. Every pane of glass on the riverside wall was blown out.

I have had to reevaluate the sufficiency of my stockpile of ammo given the currently exposed reality of how unprepared, unthinking, heathen degenerates respond to the stress of crisis. Some of my ammo is also getting a bit dated & I don't think I want to bet my family's lives on older ammo. I guess I better get out and practice more.
A good thread to read, Freepers at their best, with many of the answers.
Women, children, and those who need to take the edge off their jones first.
Move them to the closest functioning airport, they'll find their own way home, and you can forget about them.
Simplifies the problem
One of the stories on Fox said that the owner of the W Hotel paid 25,000 of his own dollars to have busses come and evacuate some guest only to have the busses comandeered by the police when they entered the city.
I am a patch carrying member of the VK. I took this as sarcasm. I think it is obvious. Best to not jump to conclusions.
And RT in the future, it is sometines advisable to make your intentions known. We have been inundated with TROLLS during this disaster that think it is great fun to disrupt threads such as this.
Looks like he crawled back under his rock.......LOL
I agree.
Although it used to be women and children first.
Nowadays it should still be ladies (if there's any left) and children first.
President Bush could have walked across Lake Ponchatrain, and the next day's headlines would have been "Bush Can't Swim."
Again, do you expect me to take you seriously when you can't even spell out your own thoughts?
Since spelling is of such paramount importance to you, Doc, perhaps you can explain how this slipped into your post #109:
Congradulations on stupidest post of the year.
Whoa..funny guy. Did you think of that all by yourself?
Bwahahahahaha
What's this state stuff. City controls will suffice!
Interesting. Almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Yet the privileged maintain their privilege to exceptional treatment, even in the midst of natural distasters and social upheaval. How ironic. In America it appears we are all equal, although some of us are more equal than others.
Whoops! He crawled back out
I do not think amo goes bad with time, hope not as most of mine is a least ten years old. I don't recycle, when I goto the range I buy new and was is not used I stock pile.
"We'll have to wait for someone to ask this question to Nagin. Was it racism or classism on his part?"
I agree. SO many liberals are trying to throw this on the shoulders of Bush, but in this instance, the crap should be rolling uphill.
