Tropical Storm 12
I wonder if we who live in the state need to take any precautions? Are they thinking ahead for that? Oh wait this is Louisiana, they forget to plan ahead.
Something else that has me wondering, are they prepared for another storm? Where would people who live here evacuate to if we are the new Florida? (hurricane magnet)
Yes, I believe they are. I know I was vaccinated against typhoid and typhus (at least) back in grade school in the 1980s, so it was in place then. From what I hear of parenting now, there's a truly impressive battery of vaccinations schoolkids have to have now.
New Orleans cooking is more creole than cajun. That will be some good eatin' :D Yall are in for a treat.
IMHO, the humiliating aspect of this National Emergency is that the globalization weenies have reduced us to accepting charitable aid from foreign nations, while in the same breath, suggesting that it doesn't make "sense" to rebuild New Orleans.

While I am grateful to those who are kindly offering us aid,
I am also deeply concerned that we can no longer fend for ourselves and depend on the generosity of others.
Condi was very gracious in her remarks until she got the race question. Then she let forth with her strong comments. Damn, I want her to run for national office!
So you agree with Robert Reicht, Clinton psycho, who said it just goes to prove how low we've sunk as a country?
who was that republican woman taking him to task? did I hear him toss him microphone off when she took him to task about being a partisan Dem political operative?
Really is there anything those people can bring in here to texas that hasn't been brought by illegal immigrants?????
If we survived the illegals surely we can handle this,,,,
I read there is a Mike Sports Bar in the French Quarter that hasnt closed during this hole time, and has a Wyoming Highway Patrol car parked out front.
unless typhoid and typhus are included in the DTP combo vaccinations they are not on texas's mandated list.
It was reported on FR the other day that 67% are on welfare in NO.....
I don't believe that is corrct it's 67% African American..I couldn't find any figures but articles saying how NO was not meeting new federal goals of getting people off of welfare...
Anybody hear anymore about yesterdays "Save Our Democrat Seats" fiasco and England AFB??
She's a great lady. Gracious and strong. The most powerful woman in the world right now. I don't think she has presidential aspirations but we can only hope. The left hate her as much as President Bush, and she cares as much about that as the President.
She also has the best killer stare around. If anyone has a photo of that stare, maybe they can post it.
FNC reporting Mich. Congrssman John Dingell to introduce legislation to separate FEMA from DHS.
Might be a little early, to do so since DHS is just getting started. But based on what I've seen of the organization, I be willing to listen to Dingell's reasons (first time ever for that!)
Jessie Jackson was heading there last night. I looked at the website of that air base...it has been converted already. Dont know where they will go with their busload of people.
George Bush saved hundreds of thousands of people by taking over the city.
If you find the numbers let me know...I thought 67% was high even for NO...
Don't know, but she wasn't any RINO apologist, that's for sure.
You'll notice this DID NOT make the national media??
The required vaccines are: DPT (Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus), MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), Polio, Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type B), Pneumococcal, Chicken Pox, and Hepatitis B
That leaves a LOT of disease uncovered.
Most school districts, IIRC, mandate them now over and above the state. CA didn't mandate them at the time I got mine, but LAUSD did. It's a common problem in districts that have immigrant children from third-world countries.
