MSNBC reporting explosions near the Superdome. CNN reporting thick smoke billowing from the area
Also heard something mentioned on KFI news break that would justify military involvement. 'children getting raped'.
I don't think we need "sleeper cells" to destroy NO, the regular "domestic" thugs are doing a good enough job. (end/sarcasm)
Oh I hope not. If some of the chemicals on those carts mix, you can get anything from a large explosion to a deadly cloud of gas that can kill everything in it's path up to miles as the winds carry it.
It amazes me how unprepared Louisiana's government was for something like this. Perhaps because of its greater experience with the situation, Florida's government seems to be right on top of things after a hurricane. Louisiana's governor and NOs mayor are running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
Perhaps the only good thing about this is the GOP will pick up the LA governorship next time around.
Oh yes it can.
The downtown could start burning at any time.
Once a large building downtown starts burning, it could burn half the city down to the water line. No one could get in to fight the fires and the people stuck in the city would burn.
It can get much worse. And probably will.
Americans would fly into a rage if they did.
Then it would be no holds barred warfare.
Not in the terrorist best interests...
And you don't want to pray for rain to put out the fire.
I just read that we mixed inmates in with the Superdome refugees, and now can't find them??
to govern what?, alligators ?, or the bass fishing trips down to Bourbon street ?
This has been a long, ugly look in the mirror for us. Yes, we have foreign enemies. But how much more it hurts when our own ghetto thugs - fellow Americans - are the ones inflicting the pain. This is a wake up call like we've never seen.
Scanner: 'Nothing toxic in the warehouse...was old oil products..no danger to the public'
Given the choice, the last thing I'd want to do is burn.
True. But if there were sleeper cells in New Orleans and they survived the environmental disaster, why not spend their load now. Otherwise its useless. But I am hoping the explosions were meant to announce the fact that the military is now moving into the area. Give them one chance to drop their weapons.
What we need are aerial fire fighting helicopters and fire fighting airships brought into the area. Unfortunately we just entered the height of our fire season here in so cal.
I'd bet they have none in the area (New Orleans). It is always wet there.
Ping
Prayers . . .
CNN now reporting it is a fire in a warehouse near the rail yard, and is not a rail car...
