MSNBC reporting explosions near the Superdome. CNN reporting thick smoke billowing from the area
They're saying it might be some sort of chemical plant.
Just heard... thnx.
KFWB Radio Los Angeles just reported Large explosions in South East New Orleans near Railroad.
Described by NBC correspondent as "massive explosion" that woke them up...
Supposedly Railroad Cars with Toxic Chemicals exploding. Oh no ! Just when you think it cannot get any worse .
The disaster unfolds...unbelievable
Apparently there has been a loud explosion in the vicinity of the Superdome in the hurricane-battered New Orleans area.
Sleeper cells, you think?
Cripes.......what next?
Large fire as well. Fire Dept putting a positive spin on things, "Well, we have enough water to put it out.."
Fox News was reporting flashes of light about 20 minutes ago, this might be the same thing.
There's no chemical plant or anything that would have toxic chemicals anywhere near the Superdome. If the explosion was in NO East, that's something else.
Actually, we can hope that it might be the initial sign that the 'Saints' have gone 'Marching In'.
Ever since the news of the levy breaking I've been expecting it to get a lot worse. And all my extended family is from New Orleans.
I'm sure some Hollywood producers are already making plans on how they can profit by telling this story that is more spectacular than their wildest writers would expect to get approved.
Maybe someone's meth lab went kaboom.
KFI Los Angeles Radio Update. Explosions in SE NO near rail yard.
Just heard it on the radio, the first thing that came into my mind was sleeper cells. I do not know if they have the expertise or capacity to logistically pull it off but the situation/conditions in the Gulf Coast and N.O. are perfect for an attack = low/no police/military presence; oil refineries, storage facilities, chemical facilities, banks un guarded and open for attack/looting. That said; it might be nothing more than arsonists with too much time on their hands and nothing to do or hooligans lighting stuff up for "entertainment".
Correction Southwest New Orleans. Rail Yard. Cannot get there because of snipper fire. Believe that toxic rail cards are there and might be exploding.
