I do not accept the premise everyone is incapable of approaching the situation with calm.

:-) I do not make this stuff up. During the Political Grapevine, Brit Hume reported that after Senator Durban called him a moose, Brian Wilson responded that no, he saw himself more as a graceful gazelle.

BOR just showed the end of Shep's report again! Now the emphasis is just on the end of the report. I have seen it now twice in the last half hour to 45 min. They are going to get a lot of mileage out of it.

He looked better in the Live segments than in those from this afternoon.
There's only so much that a person can take and then it's overload.

I have cable and he does not look like himself, he's tired, wearing a ball cap, he's pale and he's just drained, no twinkle in his eye like he usually has. Jeff Goldblatt has the same look, they are affected even if they tried not to be. I have just, well enough inhumanity for one week. He's just a reporter. Many people have died this week, and they may have been nameless and unimportant and stupid for not getting out, but they are still Americans and they are still dead, and this American is sad.

Isn't THAT the truth! It is sheer hell to be human, especially if you have a heart capable of empathy and compassion.

That is so true, Shep is completely exhausted, emotionally tied to the area... it's all been pointed out here. I don't want him having a breakdown at all, much less on camera, and I do not want to watch it happen. Watching him makes me honestly believe that's possible. Perhaps on the radio with only audio to judge, it was different.

Now that was REPORTING. I can picture him. Thank you so much.
Makes me wish Fox would pull him and other stations would pull their reporters out (if they are able to, that is) and replace them.
They have seen hell, at home, and that has to be more surreal than any field of battle on foreign shores.

Great point, Jeff Goldblatt is also on the edge and needs to get out of there very soon. But he hasn't done anything in questionable taste.
