Shep showed a dead body along the freeway. How low can you go to grandstand? Things are bad in N.O., but he didn't have to show it.

You're right. You just have to respectfully stick to your convictions if you think your views are to be taken seriously. I remember wanting to run away crying when I first got flamed. LOL
I know...he's probably frustrated as heck...
No...as I said to begin with, I understand that death is a part of this story; I understand that we are going to see dead bodies as a part of this story. I have steeled myself for that eventuality.
However, Smith's report looked staged to obtain maximum dramatic effect.
That, and only that, is what I have a problem with.
I understand that people died. I am still worried about my own relatives down there. I have other friends and relatives who are either there or have gotten out already. I understand, painfully well, what is going on. But I do not appreciate staged news, regardless of whether it comes from CNN, MSNBC, the alphabet networks, or Fox.
It was obvious to me -- as a former broadcaster myself -- that he staged that shot. He did it for effect. And that was wrong.
NO is run by liberal Democrats. I guess that answers that.
Shep is a vile SOB, he is seizing this moment to Dan Ratherize himself. He is portraying the government as feckless and unfeeling. He is such an evil, fey SOB.
Molly Hennenberg has cried on at least two of her segments...it's gotta get to you...unless you're heart is of stone.
"and nobody has a magic want..."
I beg your pardon, I most certainly do have a magic "want".
Where were the images of dead bodies from the 9/11 attacks?
Political correctness sucks.
So many of us demand sanitized news because we are weak and cannot face reality. It's too bad, because we need to see more than we do and we should always demand the whole truth.
maagic wand... spell check is a good thing.
Huh? Condi is SoS. What has she got to do with this? The blame for incompetence should be layed at the feet of the Gov of La. and the Mayor of NO., not the Presidents cabinet members.
And Haly Barbour of Mississippi.
Yes and watch President Bush take the blame for the incompetence of the leftwing leaders in La. The man has to have really big shoulders to shoulder the blame for all the worlds ills.
I was just talking to my husband about getting a survival kit together and some emergency funds and a plan of action if an emergency strikes us. I hope everyone will do that in the aftermath of this terrible thing that has happened to our neighbors.
Thats the way I saw it.
yep, cept for the water.
I'll buy that.
I'll buy that.
I believe that, if you looked closely, that 'officer' also had a video camera in his own hand. "Don't bug me shep, just down here videoing some yuks for the next station party..."
Pardon the sarcasm, but my first thought was, "In that situation with lots of folks needing help -- or, even information or directions -- what was that "officer" doing taking pictures instead of trying to help?"
I actually think Shephard Smith has been doing a pretty good job with the coverage. Although I can't say I've seen the bit with the corpse. But I have to say I can sure stomach Shep a lot more than the likes of Dan Rather, the late Peter Jennings, or Tom Brokaw.
