Ten Year Old Arrested for Giving Food to Terri Schiavo Apologizes

Joshua's arrestTAMPA BAY, August 31, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Ten year-old Joshua Heldreth, the eldest of eight children, was arrested on Good Friday of this year for trespassing while attempting to bring a drink of water to Miss Terri Schaivo.  Days later Schiavo died of intentional dehydration.  In court Joshua pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology for his actions.

The boy whose arrest photo was splashed on front pages of newspapers across the nation wrote in his apology letter, "I was arrested on Good Friday for trespassing on the hospice center's property . . . Not giving Mrs. Shiavo (sic) food or water was wrong.  The reason I had to go on your property was because Jesus would do the same thing.  It made me sad that she was so thirsty and it made Jesus sad too.  I knew she would die without water and I am called by Jesus to be a defender of the defenceless.  So I had to go on your property to try to bring her a drink."

Joshua added, "I am sorry that you didn't like that and wouldn't allow me to help save her life and one day you will have to tell God why.  I won't be able to help you then like I tried to help her. I will pray for you every day . . ."

LifeSiteNews.com caught up with Joshua's father Scott Heldreth today.  Scott told LifeSiteNews.com he is very proud of his son.  "My son has amazed me through this whole thing," said Heldreth.  The proud father said it was his son's own initiative to attempt to give the starving woman a glass of water, and despite the warning of his parents that he'd be arrested, the boy insisted.  "He was the one who begged us to go down, because he wanted to give her a glass of water . . . We explained that police will never let you help . . . you'll be arrested, but he went anyways."

Pro-life leader Rev. Flip Benham of Operation Save America told LifeSiteNews.com that the whole pro-life movement shares Heldreth's pride in his son.  Benham recalls the reaction of Heldreth on Good Friday as he watched his son being arrested: "When that all took place Scott was weeping, this father was weeping tears of joy seeing his son not only talk the Christian talk but walk the walk."

While the apology letter has been submitted, Heldreth told LifeSiteNews.com he's not completely sure it will be accepted.

the fake date of her murder

Yes, he did it to cause more hurt to Terri's family but since we reap what we sow, it will come back to him and his children. The sins of the father. MS acts and thinks about today and not the coming consequences of what he says and does. We reap more than we sow, later than we sow.

Lots who claim they can sleep at night, don't believe it. The people who killed Terri know who they are. And, yes, that's a nice jpeg at dusk.

We still at this moment do not know the veracity of the story but it is about apparently acceptable euthanasia which happened in New Orleans.

Mercy Killing

We had to kill our patients

I have found scarce little to confirm the accuracy of this story so far but did find something in the Australian Daily Telegraph.

Some others have noticed this ref too. This is one of the excerpts:

Mr McQueen, a utility manager for the town of Abita Springs, half an hour north of New Orleans, told relatives that patients had been "put down", saying: "They injected them, but nurses stayed with them until they died."

Sure, this has been going on regularly for some time as I was eyewitness several years ago. I can understand the sympathy in such cases. Still, the murder of Terri makes it easier to accept euthanasia in general as sort of acceptable, especially with heart wrenching stories which are so close to explainable.

Coming up to bat is Scott Thomas
about to get the treatment as he struggles to survive.

Why would they have to kill their patients? I have not heard about this.

However, I did hear about the nursing home employees who abandoned their patients and allowed them to drown in their beds! What happened to their evacuation plan?

They should all lose their licenses and be tried for manslaughter.

Perhaps the psychiatrist or psychologist questioned the boy to find out if he had been traumatized by the incident. I would imagine that he was. The very people who are supposed to protect innocent people were the ones who aided in killing an innocent woman.

Could it be they did not take the warnings seriously? Or they did not take the care of their critical patients seriously? Maybe it is just me but I don't understand why such people entrusted with the lives of their patients got into such a jam in the first place. Must be some explanation I have't heard yet.

I saw the CEO, an MD, of one of the large hospitals. They were cut off from the world for 4 days. They could not understand why no one came to their aid. However, they evacuated everyone to the top floors and used flashlights to light the stairs so they could take food to the patients. He assisted another doctor in surgery. They had to move the operating table the patient was on into the critical care unit where they had a generator for light and also the light from outside. They completed the operation. Their security guards waded through deep water to make it to the doctors' offices to get water and medicines, etc. The water in the bottom floor of the hospital had snakes in it, too.

They are heroes.

The baby girl passed away. Remember the mother who was on life support to deliver her? I don't have any links on me.

Sun, Scott Thomas LIVES IN SENATOR JIM KING'S district. He's in the Hospice Hall of Fame. I'm sure that Senator King is buddies with this Judge Wilkes. Every judge in Florida who has guardianships is also pals with Judge Greer who served on the guardianship committee for years, maybe still does. Terri's dad is trying to help Scott's mom.

Pope John Paul died the day after Terri died. I'm not a Catholic but what a coincidence. Pope Benedictus was writing daily to the president and to Jeb Bush to rescue Terri. The president is a methodist I think and Jeb is a Catholic but they didn't listen to the Catholic Church pleading for Terri's life.

Judge Greer is well connected but he's a corrupt judge. I'll have to pay his pension when he retires. Approx. $135,000 per year.

Do you see what this is? LETHAL INJECTION. I hope this doesn't set a new precedent for "in case of emergency". If they are doctors who are pro-euthanasia, they could LETHALLY INJECT anyone and how would anyone really know the circumstances????

There have been discussions on the Terri threads about "next thing you know, they'll decide that lethal injections are acceptable." Of course, this has probably been going on prior to Katrina.

Some jerk IN ROBERTS CONFIRMATION HEARING just mentioned Terri Schiavo. ("judges were threatened").

Terri was MURDERED, there was no threat - she was murdered!!!!! It's by RICHARD DURBIN who brought up TERRI just now.

Judicial tyranny is acceptable, ladies and gentlemen if you believe Durbin.

Well Sandra Day was whining about poor judgiewudgie the other day. I think our ten year old Joshua must have terrified the judges all, with his words of truth.

What a surprise that Turban Durban would bring that up. He must be terrified out of his wits by young Joshua.

The child wasn't exploited. He ASKED to go. Christian kids have a different value system and this kid knew what he had to do.

I do. He was brought up as a Christian by Christian parents and has the 'mind of Christ.' If he feels God told him to do it, he would do it. Great kid and great parents.
