Looter are armed gang situation worsening.
Clearly, there should be mass arrests. Martial Law, real martial law, needs to be imposed. This cannot stand. I hate that Texas has to absorb these people-- they should be shipped to Marin County, California. The "refugees" in the Astrodome are going to become like the crime prone Marielitos that South Florida had to deal with. The worst thing that could happen to the cities showing such charity right now would be for the folks they are helping to settle in their communities for good.
I guess that when the truth hurts for you, racism must be the reason.
EXACTLY!
Get a grip on yourself. I served in the military too---more years, places, and campaigns than you I wager. Stop these ridiculous posts.
There are women and children in that crowd that are innocent.
Don't think it isn't coming, tejas...a little at a time. David Wilkerson wrote about it years ago and many of his prophetic words have already come to pass. A lot of prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes.
I realize this is off topic a little but I would like to reach people who are mad about this looting. My sister is currently in Mississippi and my parents are desperately trying to get back in to check on their home. They may be in bad shape for a long time to come. Many of the bridges are out and some of their employers may have taken a hit. My family and many like them are good hard working people that do not act this way. I am asking that you please not let this looting harden your heart towards them. Thank you for any help that you may have provided as well.
my take as well.
NO right now is just the way the looters like it. When the water starts to receed they will be sparking fires.
Just a guess, hope it don't happen. Pray for the innocent.
have the shots been coming from the crowds?
if so, then thats a bad idea....but if it is random shots from empty areas, then the MGs make sense....
OMG! LMAO!
Some of my relatives (and friends) are part of "the rest of this sick city" (since they are not the port). I say, save New Orleans, but maybe some Freepers are beyond help. You see a few vermin, and assume all of New Orleans is the same. You assume wrong. Shame on you for pouring salt in the wounds of the good people who just want to go home--even if the home is already looted.
With fire ants. Don't forget the fire ants.
The thugs did not want to be evacuated. They wanted to stay behind and loot the jewelry stores and gunshops. The mayor should have known this since NO is such a high crime city.
ARE THE shots coming from the crowds they are trying to pick up?
I just woke up here.....
Evidently the water was not dirty enough for lawyers.
I'm thinking Gitmo.
Great line and a true statement!
Where is the sniper, in a crowd? By himself? I'd think the crowd would grab anyone who did that and toss him into the surrounding waters.
I agree every inner city in this country would act in just this way-- unfortunately for New Orleans, the local government and police has been corrupted to a larger degree than most other inner cities-- thus, the inmates run the asylum. I'm sure Detroit, DC and Atlanta are very similar. The incompetent, corrupt Rats in control have to pander to their criminal, F Tha Police constituency and the result is bloody and lawless.
I agree with you, janet. Under normal circumstances, most people would never steal a thing, but when your family is suffering, you do what you can to feed them.
In the U.S., criminal violence is also strongly associated with big cities, and where there are large concentrations of African-Americans.
It's hard to ignore the sex (male), age (under 25), race (African American), and residency (urban) correlates of criminal violence, since well over half (and nearly three quarters) of violent offenders are characterized by this demographic profile (Miethe & McCorkle 1998), which is also known in criminology as the subculture of violence hypothesis.
In rank order, cities like New Orleans, Washington, St. Louis, Detroit, Atlanta, Birmingham, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, and New York have homicide rates that are frequently five times the national average of 8.2 per 100,000 population.
Cities like Little Rock and San Bernardino have the highest rates of aggravated assault.
