President Bush: "We are dealing with one of the worst national disasters in our nation's history." Push has appropriated vast federal resources to assist with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
78,000 people are currently in shelters. New Orleans evacuation continues. 10,000 additional National Guard troops have been called to service.
Hospitals are running low on supplies, and public health concerns include water borne disease, poor sanitation, food and drinking water contamination and shortages, mosquitoes, carbon monixide poisoning from electricity generators, lack of childcare, and the special needs of the elderly.

I believe you, I was just being a smart aleck, because I hate CNN sooo much.
Great....
Inmates have control of the New Orleans Jail...
Jefferson Parish and Orleans Parish each had a population of almost 500,000, with about 100,000 more in St. Bernard and Plaquemines Parishes combined. More than 1 million residents. Jefferson Parish estimated that somewhere between 200-300,000 of their residents didn't evacuate. Add in Orleans and the other parishes and there is a good chance that 500,000 rode out the hurricane down there. Afterwards a good number may have been able to get out on their own before the Tuesday levee break, and the areas south of the river(the West Bank) pretty much didn't have the massive flooding. But 200,000 remaining to be evacuated could certainly be possible.
Reporter to CNN, "THIS IS LIKE IRAQ"!!!
Hilarious, the libs ALWAYS pour it on to thick.
tomkat, mine is doing good. Saw a couple of dialup requests earlier on, and the AM's have done well in zotting the high bandwidth stuff for them. It is fine with me to stay on this one. Just considering some others. The tweaking help links are good, should help most that might have a problem.
!?

What Conservative was freaking out?
lol--looked almost like Wolf is reporting from a stadium SkyBox.
anybody watching CNN?
A poster on the Wright-Weather Bulletin Board said he heard CNN mention something about what may happen in Baltimore and Houston. He thought they were mentioning the possibility of a planned attack there.
I doubt that is what they really said....anybody remember them mentioning something about Baltimore and Houston just a bit ago?

Somebody on another thread posted a claim that the Clinton administration back in 1998 denied funding for the following:

I can not get any further in my search, being very limited in my google skills.
Is there someone out there who can ferret out the truth about this?
