I agree, that guy had obviously been through a highly, highly traumatic situation and was beyond exhausted, and this reporter keeps peppering him with questions so he can get his exclusive, when the guy was too tired to even think straight.
My goodness, that report sounds like it is coming from a war zone.
He had blood on his shirt.....I wonder who these people really are?
You're welcome.
Yeah I am having a hard time with coming to grips with that number. That means that there is two and a half times the first official estimate. I hope this guy was just exaggerating but supposedly he was an expert on the area.
I know if that many stayed behind in the New Orleans area the Death toll is going to be waaaaaay above 1000!
God love you, Miss Behave. You are obviously yet another FReeper who has her heart in the right place. I had a discussion on another thread last night that left me quite upset thinking that other FReepers were coldhearted and cruel. You and some others, both through your posts and private FReep mail, have shown me that the majority of my fellow FReepers are good folks. We will have to endure those who are callous, coldhearted, and downright cruel. But we know who they are because they "stick out like a sore thumb". I hope and pray that others who view our forum will not judge us by the wickedness of some FReepers.
No way...
Apparently the bus in question arrived in Houston way earlier that what was expected of those arriving from the Superdome.
"Individual lawyers the law firms that control NOLA, whom represent the monied interests of NOLA, that provided legal counsel to the politicians of LA and NO, made deliberate, calculated decisions on Friday night and Saturday morning, to let the poor populace suffer what may come. Nothing will ever come of it."
Do you have any concrete articles, etc., that you can point us to on this topic?
Yep....way ahead of schedule.
So the Mayor and Governor have been lying about the numbers staying behind as well?
Call the Louisiana State Patrol at 1-800-469-4828 or the US Coast Guard's Rescue Line at 800-323-7233.
Give an new meaning to "left behind"...I guess if I were left behind the first thing I'd want was a gun....to protect myself, family etc. It is a basic tool of survival. And since I don't own one....couldn't buy one under the circumstance....I'd have to loot it.
Bump your call for help, Wampus. Somebody MUST be able to help.
There is something very fishy about the school buses arriving at the Astrodome.
From the Jail??? Part of the crowd that rioted last night?
He was only being concerned for people, most notably a little boy who was dehydrated, and, dead and dying babies. Plus, he is telling the truth, unlike most of them. He's a good guy and has gone up considerably in my estimation. He could be living the high life up in New York, but he is sticking with his people. I think he'd even go down with them, like a true Southerner.
bluepistolero
I thought something sounded wrong about that school bus - probably locals looking for all the goodies they Red Cross folks were bragging about having ready for the refugees in the Astrodome - this disaster is showing us something shocking about the moral decay in portions of our society . . .
Seriously though, if these are really NOLA refugees, and they didn't steal the bus at gunpoint, then I can't blame them for trying to get out and not drown or literally die of thirst. But of course plenty here will demand that they all be shot on sight, women and children included.
And then they wonder why libs are able to portray us as hard-hearted...
Prayerful BUMP.
