Never thought I would see you quote the front page of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Don't worry...

The price should peak at $42/gallon.

I've seen the movie, but I've never read it. I thought it was entertaining. In any case, I think it's good advice. ;-)

I went to fill up after work here in Montgomery. The first station was completely filled with cars 3 deep at each pump. I went to the next one and had to wait in line about 10 minutes.

While pumping gas I talked with two ladies filling up next to me. One said the pipeline story was a lie because it is underground and the hurricane couldn't have damaged it. The other lady said and I quote,"I know what cause it, be George Bush, mmmhmmm George Bush."

I was pumping 87 octane and it ran out when I was at 3/4 tank. Price here was $2.79 per gallon. There were three deputies standing guard inside.

And why would gasoline run out? Do you know what percent of the gas supply in the US was impacted by Katrina???

Fox News just said they saw one Gas Station at $5.57 a gallon.

The scary thign about this is that a substantial number of people would pay that price.

I know exactly the kind of people they are, too. They're the ones who are going to run out tomorrow and get $5,000 on a trade-in for their 2004 SUV with 15,000 miles on it . . . and then turn around and pay $45,000 for a new hybrid.

Just so they can save about $1,500 per year on fuel costs.

The panic is happening right now in central Ga. Macon, Warner Robins too. LINES and LINES at every gas station. I'm waiting for the fighting and shooting to begin.

Exactly... We are just seeing the ripple effect. I bet it will effect the rest of the country. We will see it in the coming days... I guess we can thank our local wacko Environmentalist since they will not let us build anymore Refineries!

We need our dam taxes cut now!

I filled up Saturday here in Blairsville GA for 2.61. Sunday it jumped to 2.71. Monday it was 2.79. This morning around 11:00 it was 2.89 and this afternoon it was 3.09. That's all mid grade.

I had to go to Cherokee NC this morning and just got back. On the way up, everyone seemed to have gas. Overall, it was probably around 3.09 avg for regular. When I left there at 2:00 this afternoon, of about twelve stations along the way, 7 were out of gas, 1 was out of everything but regular and the rest had three to four deep lines. The stations I pass along the way are in Murphy NC, Andrews NC, one in the Nantahala gorge, a couple between there and Cherokee and three in Cherokee.

Okay, you can have all the TVs you want. I need a couple more computers. And jewelry. I don't have enough jewelry to get me through the next crisis.

Of course in some areas of Atlanta, when people are stuck in gas lines the fighting and shooting dies down.
