I mean setting up boat roadblocks at every major intersection and sending out boat patrols. Remove everyone who is seen and investigate buildings where vermin are suspected holed up.

This has to be the most mismanaged thing I have EVER seen. Why hasn't the governor asked other cities in the state that were not affected to loan police officers to NO? Why hasn't she sent in the state highway patrol? Why hasn't she asked governors in neighboring states for NG units?

I will not fault her for praying. I join her in those prayers.
Having said that, after seeing several of her interviews and briefings...I believe she is very, very far over her head and really is at a loss as to what to do, and that is unacceptable at a time like this.
If there is a legal way for the the President to use the federal government to step in and bring more order and better planning to this crisis right now...then now is the time.
I believe this report is another indication that it is happening to whatever degree possible.

I believe she will be impeached or recalled by the citizens of Louisiana, before this is all over. The battle lines will be drawn.
The fence sitters must be kicking themselves for not having voted for Bobby Jindal.
This is a classic study in the inability to lead.

Oklahoma Air Guard has been called up and members of OK's 45th Infantry have been told to call into HQ, so presume they're on the list.

asking the president to handle NGThat is because she can then blame Bush for everything, shooting looters, not stopping looting, it is all Bush's fault, not hers.

How do you think Watts was concluded? The cordon went around the area, the sun went down and there were rioters. The sun came up, and there were no more rioters.

The ARNG just flew over my house, just now, two Black Hawks headed somewhere south of here...these are the guys that fly over my house and know who I am because we wave at them, the jedis and I...they invited us to tour their unit because of it. The Hobbit Hole gave them knives.
God bless them...this picture was taken directly over my house...they circled my house three times that time and gave me time to take some pictures.

It's turning from looting to insurrection. It's also turning in to good reason not to donate.
I DO NOT want my charity dollars to go to those criminals..and you know they will. Those few barbarians do not deserve the help they will surley receive, IMO.

I understand from watching the news that 5,000 NG are going to Louisiana and 5,000 to Mississippi. And assisting in maintaining order will be one of their responsibilities.
To: HairOfTheDog
Didn't it!?
I meant to give it to them for 9/11, but I doubt they'll be around, now.
