President Bush to address the nation on Hurricane Katrina...has flown by the damage on Air Force One on way back to D.C.
WWL is showing the military picking up people in NO from different locations. Shep is grandstanding when he says no federal folks are there. They are getting to all the people as fast as they can.
Apparently so.
People are dying and yet D.C. fusses over his posture. It's absurd.
Let me guess, it was a case of 'Not in My Backyard!!'?.
They explained on the radio from OKC that what you are paying for is the contracts they are signing to refill the tanks. Fortunately, where I buy gas they signed a contract before the hurricane.
I haven't heard that term since it was applied to this guy:
See President Bush's speech (video streamed) on:

Go to "recent programs."
Thanks you guys for the information...it helps understand why...but doesn't erase the fact of the envirowackos causing the whole issue...DRILL ANWAR TODAY!!!
I second the nomination.
I refuse to waste another second arguing with people more concerned with "feelings" then action.
Mr. President, thank you for the briefing. Good job. Ignore them, I know you will, and continue organizing efforts that will save lives rather than score PR points. God Bless.
The problem in D.C. is that they all go to the same cocktail parties. Insularism is the result.
And I nominate your post for "Honorable Mention." Thanks. :-)
I am sure he is still getting paid and has a bed to sleep in and food and water.
Well, the ACLU had better think about that long and hard. After all, with that many people leaving LA the state could well turn red, and that few people added to Texas won't amount to a bump on a bull's backside. I would say that the DNC has to figure out a way to get those folks back before they lose yet another state.
Actually I like the "pajama posse" but "armchair warriors" will work!
September is going to be interesting. Able Danger, Judge Roberts and the blame game for this disaster in the Gulf. It's not going to be pretty. We'll have to eat well, exercise and make sure we up to the task :-)
I'm tryin'. If I were not workin' out and trying to eat well, I probably would've bought the farm by now. You keep up the exercise and good diet too, 'K?
You take care, Christian.
And you also, Peach.
Very well stated. Thanks!
I have never written it referring to conservatives before, but those wet blankets with coiffures just annoy me. They always have to show how superior (in some way) they are to a Texan, TANG fighter pilot, Harvard MBA, ex-Major League Baseball club owner, POTUS.
Exactly. Thank you.
Well this is cr@ppy, all I get when clicking the video link is 'rtsd not a registered protocl'. I didn't get to see the speech either, and now I'll have to wait for C-SPAN to re-air it. Boo.
I'm glad I am not your employee. I can just see you telling the workers the next day: "Sorry, but I can't afford to refill the tanks because we didn't get enough cash from selling that last tankful to refill it at the new, higher prices!"
And tell me...if the prices go DOWN, would you conversely sell the fuel at the price you bought it?
Well said. The perfume they use is "Aire de Arrogance."
