Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi [hundreds if not thousands dead]
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 08/30/2005 10:10:45 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

It is with heavy heart I write this...

I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.

He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.

Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.

They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.

The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.

The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

More to follow....

Refrigeration trucks on their way in the next 12 hours to start a base for body i.d.'s,body bag orders way up. The odd thing is he said he has seen absolutely no media where they have been going into.

Tell your friend to take pictures of what is happening for historic archiving, because those in the media don't give a damn about those who died in the non-major (million plus population) cities.

I lived through Andrew personally and was there 25 miles to the north of the eye. The thing was then...channel 7 and 10 went live with refrigeration trucks pulling up to Homestead Air Force Base and tons of body bags.

Why?

Illegals who were afriad to check into a shelter because of no ID or anything, were afriad of being deported and all decided to ride it out in south Dade and Naranja.

A similar thing reportedly happened with Charley last year and the coast filled with mexicans and nicaraguans as well who have not been seen since the day of the storm.

Illegals don't go to shelters out of fear of the police. It is very common.

It is also a sign that would drive locals insane knowing how many died in Miami and would leave especially after finding out how many illegals lived amongst them. Big political issues.

Any word from the Picayune area? I lived there for a few years in my youth, and I am worried sick.

My brother-in-law's family lives near Picayune (it's where they went to get away from Ivan and Dennis).

My sister got a report from them:
They lost some trees, shingles and the lattice around their above-ground pool... and no power. Their folks house is okay, although there was substantial damage to uncle/cousin's property across the street.

I don't think you will see the utter devastation in Picayune of the communities nearer to the coast but it probably took a good beating nonetheless.

There was some nutball on Coast-to-Coast tonight in the first hour, saying that weather is being manipulated by the Russians-- citing names of the most severe storm last year IVAN and now KATRINA are 'Russian'. I kid you NOT!

No, no, no. It couldn't be the Russians, because we just learned that God was responsible. (rolls eyes)

Unless he was using the Russians as his chosen instrument of vengeance... </sarcasm>

Prayer does change things.

Especially sacrificial, earnest, servant-hearted prayer.

I have never understood this. Why would God "answer" prayers for New Orleans and send devastation to Mississippi?

If you believe in an omniscient God...how can He change his mind?

Did he know ahead of time that he would change his mind?

Then He didn't change his mind!!

Thank you for your post of the video link. I wish they would have continued to the Pascagoula area. I have close family in the area and the communications has been spotty. I was there in Camile and in my opinion (while different as mentioned by the reporters) this is 100%+x as bad.

Thank you. I just spent 15 minutes poring over the reports but didn't find their subdivision named - it's a Frenchman something. I have bookmarked the thread - thank you so much.

Got to get up in 3 more hours - best try to sleep fast.

I could maybe understand a father staying home to watch the house and pets

Not me. I love my pets, but I would leave them to fend for themselves in a situation like this, without an instant's hesitation. As for the house: mere dross. Not worth even a 1% chance of losing my life and leaving my kids fatherless.

As soon as this thing hit Cat 4 with an estimated landfall within a hundred miles of me, I'd have spent a couple of hours packing up my important papers and photos and keepsakes, as well as a few guns, poured out some bags of feed for the animals, and hit the road without a backwards glance. I mean, I'd have been gone by late morning on Saturday.

People who try to "ride out" hurricanes are fools.

They never opened the inbound lanes to outbound traffic. Did you see the pictures. You could have driven 70mph on the inbound lanes. No one was heading into town. Major failure government failure in that one.

Noticed that also...The entire freeway should have been one-way.

Anyway, New Orleans is sadly sinking into WaterWorld.

"Heavenly Father, we come to You with heavy hearts. Oh Lord, SUCH devastation...

Lord, please help the living, help them be rescued very soon. Comfort the families who've lost their loved ones and their homes. Time is running out for so many, Lord. I pray for all of the rescue workers, for the police, the National Guard...Lord, give them the strength they're going to need to deal with this tragic situation.

We pray, God, for the children, for the ill, for the elderly. Lord, I ask you to soften the hearts of the looters, to make them STOP now...to stop this madness.

Oh Lord, we're hurting...please hear our prayer. In Your Holy Name,
Amen"

Bump and amen my friend...

I am just so sad.
