Prayer does change things.

Especially sacrificial, earnest, servant-hearted prayer.

I have never understood this. Why would God "answer" prayers for New Orleans and send devastation to Mississippi?

If you believe in an omniscient God...how can He change his mind?

Did he know ahead of time that he would change his mind?

Then He didn't change his mind!!

"Then He didn't change his mind!!"

I don't think he gets involved on our level except to allow us to develop weather forecasting, give us radio and tv to get the warnings out relatively early, and modern transportation to carry us away (with relative speed) from areas that probably will get hit.

If people ignore all the warnings that is not God's doing, it was human....

I wouldn't pretend to understand ALL about Almighty God.

He keeps some of His own counsel.

Scripture does record that Moses changed God's mind.

There are plenty of mysteries.

I don't have all the answers.

What I do know is plenty sobering and with God's Grace and the provision of Eternal Life through Christ's Blood and Salvation

unbelievably wonderful

FOR those who play as well as they can by God's rules

AND SEEK HIM FIRST.

When we persistently as a culture give God the finger . . . at some point, He must respond.

Voodoo, infanticide, the extreme excesses of Mardi Gras etc. are not ways to win God's favor.
