They are telling people to stay on Highway 90 to get out of the city. This is scarey.
Pleeeease don't start that here again. I'm begging you!!
The seal was stuck in a puddle well inland, too heavy to drag to the sea, and the dragging it over the rubble would have probably injured it severely.
tonight will be a very long night in NO
when thugs are walking up and shooting the few cops left on the street, it's time to head for the bunker....
Just da**. One's heart goes out for the people and all that they are going through. May God really really intervene in a big way. But I really hoped that the poor seal would make it. Kind of a symbol really.
6:41 P.M. - Efforts to stop the levee break at the 17th Street Canal have ended unsuccessfully and the water is expected to soon overwhelm the pumps in that area, allowing water to pour into the east bank of Metairie and Orleans to an expected height of 12-15 feet. From Tom Planchet's page on WWLTV, placed in bold for emphasis, also in block capitals on the WWLTV homepage.
Had to be done. Humans need food and water first. Kind of harsh, yet there will be more reality in the coming days. PETA be damned.
It is a shame ..... we wouldn't have been able to settle Texas without it.
cinnamon and sugar...LOL
They have a pig named Mr Parker and I don't know how he is. My brother in law swears he is a genius and takes me out to his pen to tell me stories of the genius of Mr Parker. But he is very very fat and dull looking to me. They got him to eat and my sister made a pet out of him. She does that will all the animals. And my bro in law is a beef cattleman,,he raises them for beef so you can imagine how hard it is for my sister who falls in love with all the baby cows. They recently sold most of their herd and I think they kept the bulls for stud or something. We don't like the bulls anyway so I don't care if they were in the storm or not. They have two draught horses, big old ones, and I don't know about them but they couldn't go in the house for sure, they are pretty tall.
both.
well at least they did not blow it up
I am getting an eerie feeling that city officials know more than they are telling.
It was earlier on this thread. If the source is critical to you, just forget I said that : )
Chevron rationing gas?
Wow.
wondering about that, no news I have seen
Just came in. Does anyone have any news of Slidell? I have concerned family members.
Thanks.
There's a Jerry Clower joke in there somewhere--
About the man who claimed he was OK at the scene of a car wreck with a livestock truck, but later sued the insurance company because he had broken his leg...
The lawyer asks him why he said one thing at the wreck, and why he was changing his story later.
The man replies:
"...that trooper looked over and saw that cow a-bellowin' and squallerin' , he looked over at me and said 'What's wrong with that cow?' and I said 'It's got a broke leg' and BLAM! he shoots her right between the eyes, grave-yard dead. With that gun a-smokin' he turns to me, and asks, 'What's wrong with you, sir?' and I says, 'NOT A THING IN THE WORLD!!'"
No cheers, due to Katrina. Prayers for all!
al baby started it, I just threw some gasoline on the fire while the price was still low.
some of them could not bail - no rental cars, flights cancelled. and how can they get out now?
