Catastrophic damage occurred to Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Major bridges are destroyed. Mobile AL suffered its worst flooding in 90 years. In New Orleans, a large section of concrete levee broke last night. Water continues to rise, threatening, among many things, Tulane Hospital with 1000 patients. New Orleans officials: Do not attempt to return to the city at this time if you evacuated. It is too dangerous.

Agreed, children are very precious gifts who need great care....let's just pray they will all be safe....
This is historic.
That is such an assinine statement...it actually amuses me.
How old are you?
Gov Mary Landrieu (obviously distressed) OEP Press Conference:
No passable streets in many neighborhoods
No food.
OEP is bringing food into the people in shelters
They are trying to relocate people from shelters
A lot of people lost their lives but the focus continues to be on rescue.
Have evacuated 1000's of people from thier rooftops and many more have to be saved.

Watching press conf,,Mary Landrieu looks unhinged, she is smilling, face twitching, looks destroyed.
So you think it is smart for tourists to go to NO when there are no contingency plans to get them out during an approaching hurricane?
Is there a medical term for the physical condition of Senator Mary L.'s mega-twitching smile? Serious question.
Ms Landrieu is on CNN bobbing her head like Hillary while Blanco blubbers during her speech.
Ms Landrieu has a lovely home in the garden district.

There is NOTHING left...concrete slabs and pillars 1/2 mile inland. Unreal.
U.S. Senator Landrieu, is on the right.
The governor, speaking, is on the left.
I'm glad I don't have her job!
She is one of the sorriest excuses for a governor I've seen. If she can't suck it up and handle the job, she needs to resign. If the President of the United States had to call me to tell me to issue evacuation orders, I'd be ashamed.
Dude, never mind. Have you noticed the city is destroyed?
Have your boycott, good Lord.
It's unbelievable. They are overwhelmed.
No offense, but anyone who relies on any government to tell them what to do and when to do it, especially if waiting flies in the face of his common sense, he needs his head examined.
Besides, I am blessed with common sense -- I'd rely on my OWNSELF to get the Hell our of Dodge, before relying on a FEMA jackass or government wonk.
Who's going to go to the casinos anyway? There are no tourists and people with only the clothes on their backs are not going to be going to the casinos. I don't care how much revenue they bring in. There's a hell of a lot more urgent needs than worrying about lost revenue from casino's being out of business. As far as jobs go, unless you are a public employee, your job is not there right now, either.
