ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) Lise Van Susteren, a psychiatrist and sister of Fox Television's Greta Van Susteren, plans to announce Thursday that she's seeking the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate.
Two well-known Democrats former Rep. Kweisi Mfume and Rep. Benjamin Cardin have already entered the race. On the Republican side, Lt. Gov. Michael Steele is considering running for the seat that will open up with the retirement of Democrat Paul S. Sarbanes.
A news release issued Monday said Van Susteren will open her campaign with events in Baltimore and Bethesda. She will discuss the need to improve public schools and the health care system, and will challenge the Bush administration on the conduct of the war in Iraq, the release said.
Van Susteren, 54, is the mother of three teenagers and the wife of Jonathan Kempner, president and CEO of the Mortgage Banker's Association in Washington.
It was more than an eye lift, Greta!
:)
Nevermind, I won't be voting for her anyway.
YO, LISE - there is more to Maryland than the west side of the Chesapeake.............but you're probably smart to not bother - they ain't gonna vote for you on the Shore.
That's cruel ;")
yet humorous
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
Is she a Scammintologist too?
Thanks for the ping!
What we really need to know is her opinion on the situation in Aruba...
What is the wife of a mortgage banker doing in the Rat party?
Her sister's association with The Ultimate Bastion Of All That Is Evil And Unholy (a.k.a. Fox News Channel) will be enough to deep-six her candidacy.
Greta Van's sister, Loreta Pam?
Yes, people, that was a joke.
Wonder if Greta's sister is a scientologist like Greta. I mean....I thought scientologists HATED the psychiatry profession and all... Ronny Hubbard the science fiction writer and originator of the science fiction religion, scientology, most definitly hated all psychiatry and psychology.
Greta and her hubby are into scientology, big time, according to reports
.
On top of that, her father was Sen. Joe McCarthy's campaign manager.
If she is the official representative on their ballot, sure, the MSM would support her. But she isn't going to have their support willingly unless she can somehow upstage "Two well-known Democrats former Rep. Kweisi Mfume and Rep. Benjamin Cardin".
The Dems already have a hot primary on their hands. The winner is scheduled to face the LT. Gov. Steele, Popular, with a real opportunity to take this seat in a Dem state. I doubt she has the "gravitas" to beat Steele in a head to head matchup so they'll seek to isolate her in the primary.
Don't know much about Cardin but if it's between Van Sustern and Mfume, we just might pick up that seat.
Notice that no one is calling for pictures...
Sisterly dealings with scientologist Greta could be awkward.
