Remember, the reason the Clintons told Gorelick to erect "the wall" in the first place was to stymie investigations into their criminal foreign campaign money schemes. There were probably other reasons as well.
Prior to 9/11, or prior to 1/01? A new administration taking over the reigns?
Maybe we should be asking the Clintons what they knew about 9-11 and WHEN did they know it?
My theory is...
Clinton & Gore were so arrogant that they thought the 2000 election was sewn up. When they lost they pushed the Fla recount knowing in the end it would go no-where.
Remember the Wall memo that Gorelic (I am not sure how she spells it.) That was to protect the Clintons from the CIA and the like from sharing data on the Chinese funny money rolling into their coffers.
In a panic they found out about "Able Danger" worried it might contain evidence to expose them and ordered the purge. The Atta stuff was not the reason for the purge just a bonus.
Enter 9-11 and the "Commission another panic alarm goes off again as someone remembers a breifing on Atta and his cell.
Sandy Burglar goes and steals and destroys the documents relating to those breifings.
Jamie G's role on the commission was to find out what was going on behind closed doors and get that info to the Clintons so they could arrange the desposal of any incriminating documents.

They saw that Gore was not going to win so they scorched the earth for Bush. If Gore Wins they find a way to make the documents public, Gore wins the day and all is well with the rats. I think the timing of the destruction of these documents is critical. I don't think they saw 9/11 coming, but I do see where they wanted to make political hay and all of the sudden appear tough on terrorism. This could have saved Clintoons legacy, "we had the intel but had to wait until the time was right to move on it." The only problem was that Bush beat gore so they destroyed the intel to make Bush look bad. (just pure speculation but after 8 years of the most corrupt administration in history , who knows...)

Maybe they saw the handwriting on the wall. They had a "mountain" to hide with all that went on during that (Clinton) administration.
These RATS are ruthless in pursuit of power.
Let me kick out a bizarre concept.
Was Clinton trying to weaken the U.S., so we would not
be powerful enough to face our enemies? Since, we would not
be strong enough to stand alone, we would eventually join
a world conglomeration of some sort. Clinton, of course,
would be one of the leaders.
If you think about his actions, what did they accomplish
other than to divide us, and strengthen our enemies?
Did he really go after Al-Qaeda? Did he give technology to
the Chinese to make them a threat to Taiwan, Japan, Korea,
Russia, India, and us?
Did he go to Africa to start trade, or help alleviate their
wars, or strengthen whatever democracies they have there?
Part of his strategy may have been to keep us self-absorbed,
and not see what was going on internationally.
Do you recall how his office went after the Branch Davidians,
and Elian Gonzales, but shot off a few tomahawks at some
tents in Afghanistan? Was that an even response? Why didn't
he use his troopers to raid Al-Qaeda offices(or caves), instead of
Elian Gonzales' family relations?
Kinda makes you wonder.
