Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

Right, I read that. He should have brought his family here!
Lafayette Channel 10 KLFY-TV has just reported hotel overbookings at the Best Value Inn. Due to damage to the chain's main computer system in Florida, the Best Value -- which only has 300 rooms -- was allowed to accept 10,000 reservations. The parking lot is full of angry guests who have confirmed reservations and no rooms. KLFY reports that it is STILL possible to book a room at the Best Value via priceline.com and other sites because the glitch hasn't been fixed yet. What a catastrophe!!
Bill the Babe Hemmer is on Fox now - ahhh another good reason to watch
My family is fine....I'm gonna be a grandma again in Feb..
Against what though? It looks like the only thing it could grab onto is the out-shoot of the upper part of the walls?
It's not just the shelters-of-last-resort, it's those who chose, for whatever reason, to ride it out. It is my prayer as a Christian that they are spared. This is a very sad situation... so much more should have been done, but sadly, there appear to be few grownups in positions of responsibility there.
There seems to be a lack of accountability in the governor's office, and the NO mayor's office. Some tough love and strong parenting would have saved many lives... and we watch from a distance. So sad. Prayers for those who were let down.
Prayers for those who paid attention, with best intentions, who stayed to help others. We saw this well in advance. This is the sixth string here. The information was available.
It spooks me that the news commentators talk about 20 feet of water in the streets. Should this happen, it won't be a gentle raising of the water level. We've recently seen the effects of a tsunami wall of water rampaging.
Let's light a candle.
Sorry, I thought it was clear I was nowhere near serious.
Just hoping for the best...hick-up...
What a shocker. When did he move to FNC? Today?
He looks like he's made out of plastic, he's waterproof, he'll float.
Sad indeed...and deadly.
I'm with you, when it comes to Geraldo "The Fake". Instant, channel change, we he comes on.
Let's keep it rational here. The dome will be fine.
Here is some interesting history. I had to experience Alicia

Elevation above sea level might be important.
And I fell for it. Sorry.
I guess
