I'm in Huntsville.
Maybe everyone could do what a few posters are already doing - put your location in your tag line, both here and on the "main" Katrina threads.
Oh, great idea.........go over there and suggest it, please, ma'am.
BTTT
Godspeed, FRiend...
Awesome map!
See #120. By the way; is ringy still chasing after the ponies or is she back home?
Lafayette home of Prejeans.
I used to run between Houston and Panama City pretty regularly and that was my secret eating place probably not around anymore cause that was a long time ago
Leave Houston around 4:00, hit Prejeans by 8:00 the joint would be jumpin by then. Slide into Panama City under cover of darkness around 4:30am. Those were the good old days when fun was working all day and driving all night
Good luck.
We are battening down the hatches here for the 3RD time in a year. This one appears to be the most dangerous.
Ivan, the worse between the two previous, was rather uneventful here in Bham compared to alot of unnamed storms we have had over the years.
I'll check back in when the power returns. We usually go three to six days without power in these events. We may go longer if it remains its strength and path.
We have a pretty solid brick house with a basement and a generator so we should be okay. I just pray for those people in NO, LA and along the coast.
Just south of Jackson, MS, and nervous.
What are they predicting for the Laurel, MS area? My mom's oldest brother lives there. I asked my mom if she's called him, and she said no, that he has enough sense to do what he needs to do. Which is true, but still, he's 74.
Ping to the roll-call thread. Yall keep us informed about your conditions.
Bethy, I hope your safe in TX and not anywhere near this!
Dear friend Patriot1 and her twin, newslady, live in New Orleans(Metarie.) They also have many relatives and an elderly mother in and around that area.
Pray that they will all be OK. Great idea starting this, Howlin.
I have lived in New Orleans. This has potential for being the most devastating hurricane in the USA, and New Orleans and Grand Isle could be the most expansive LOWEST lying areas in the US.
This combination could produce the MOTHER OF ALL HURRICANE Disasters.
You all are close to home. Grew up in Brandon and live in Meridian. All my kinfolks live in Laurel!
I strongly suspect that there will be a change of plans...
Prayers out to all those in the South.
Please check in if and when you can. If you read this later: we're praying for you now!
DrSteveJ lives around New Orleans, IIRC.
Although he's been banned, he's missed. If anyone knows his status, please pass it along.
God protect everyone in the path of this terrible storm.
