If you or your family is in the path of Hurricane Katrina, if you would like to, please "sign in" here so that we can keep track of our people as this storm progresses, especially after the storm has passed.
Its a beautiful day here, very hot and humid but a beautiful sky. No visual indiction just yet of the danger heading this way. The interstates are packed but still moving (in spite of an accident on I-10 between Baton Rouge and Lafayette on the bridge over the Atchalafaya basin). Last I heard, all the hotels in the direction of Baton Rouge and the surrounding area are fully booked through Tuesday. Needless to say, store shelves are emptying as fast as they can stock them. I have been bagging ice as fast as I can make it. Everyone anticipates a prolonged power outage. All the major hotels have advised their guests that they will have generator power within 24-48 hrs after the storm but that they will most assuredly be in the dark for a while. Folks, this is going to be mighty bad. Please keep all of us in your prayers and pray that Katrina loses some of her punch before landfall.
Nashville here. We'll get it after it leaves your place
You didn't leave??
Sending prayers .. you stay safe .. {{HUGS}}
What map, spiff ? :)
Rhanks, Mo. I'll check in as often as I can.
I'm in NE MS. We expect to get muddy and breezy here. Son's girlfriend is here with him. The rest of her family are in Biloxi and planning to ride it out. Their home is about a mile inland. I am already planning to take vacation later in the week to head down for relief effort. I don't figure they will have a house left so it might be getting crowded at our house.
Fortunately I have family and friends over there who will do everything that can be done for my grandmother if the worst happens.
Thanks, though.
-Dan
You kids keep yourselves in one piece, ya hear ?!
What a great idea Spiff. Thank you. It does make us look rather vulnerable, doesn't it?
