Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
She is among the most slithering of lying snakes with a sweet tongue I've ever heard, that Medea.
DFU SONG: San Francisco (if you're going to Crawford, Tx, take Old Glory with you)

If you're going to Crawford, Texas...make sure you take Old Glory there with you
If you are going to Crawford, Texas...Al Jazeera is watching what you do
For those who go to Crawford, Texas...some aging hippies are stinking up the place
You'll confront them in Crawford, Texas...they're such airheads and really a disgrace
They're in celebration...with hate for our nation
Yeah, they are disgusting
Enemies they are helping...with their anti-war yelping
Of them, never be trusting...never be trusting
So raise your voice in Crawford, Texas
To tell our soldiers we're with them all the way
They will hear you from Crawford, Texas
For their safety, we're praying every day
If you're going to Crawford, Texas....our troops will know that we pray for them every day
LOL The show is called Newswatch. And you are so right about it being a lame show.
I could get as good of (actually better) soundbites from doing man on the street interviews about the media coverage of various events.
That Jane Hall and that dipweed lefty guy are so uselessly liberal and trite. Jim and Cal, they seem neutered, and Jim speaks in such a fast, stuttering way, that even if he made a decent point you cannot understand half of it.
They have a little club there and just like the U.S. Senate, it is all about their little club - not the American people or the national interest.

Thousands converge on Crawford for dueling rallies
By ANGELA K. BROWN
Associated Press
CRAWFORD This one-stoplight town of 700 residents near President Bush's ranch braced for thousands of visitors today, most in a cross-country caravan for a pro-Bush rally and others to support Cindy Sheehan's anti-war demonstration.
Steve Ueckert / ChronicleA caricature of President Bush protrudes from a car driven through Crawford this morning before the 'We Support Our Troops and Their Mission' rally.More than 3,000 people were expected at the school football stadium for a pro-Bush rally, the culmination of the "You don't speak for me, Cindy!" tour that started last week in California.
It would be the largest counter protest since Sheehan started camping out off the road leading to Bush's ranch Aug. 6, soon after his Texas vacation began. She vowed to remain unless he talked to her about the war with Iraq that claimed the life of her son Casey and more than 1,870 other U.S. soldiers.
The pro-Bush caravan was coordinated by Move America Forward, a group led by former Republican California Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian and Sal Russo, the strategist who in 2003 launched one of the two simultaneous efforts to recall California's then-governor, Democrat Gray Davis.
Meanwhile, hundreds were expected at Sheehan's camp for a somber ceremony today honoring soldiers serving in Iraq. The protest, which has swelled from dozens on weekdays to about 1,000 the past two weekends, will end Wednesday.
Sheehan, of Vacaville, Calif., said that after the protest ends, some of the group will spread its message on a tour, with the first stop probably in the southeast Texas district of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, a Republican.

Courtesy The AP; (Free Real Player required)Bush has said he appreciates Sheehan's right to protest and understands her anguish but will not change his schedule to meet with her. His vacation is to end Sept. 2.
Sheehan and other grieving families met with Bush about two months after her son died last year, before she became a vocal opponent of the war.
Crawford has not seen this big a crowd since the scathing documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 was shown last summer on a screen at the football field, drawing about 3,000 people. The screening was organized by the Crawford Peace House, which also is helping Sheehan. Earlier that night, more than 300 Bush supporters held a rally to counter the showing of the film.
Unfortunately, it would be very bad politics to do so. He needs to remain above all of this. But, I am sure he is there, supporting the troops, in spirit.
The bext of coverage is right here, of the people, not not of the media.
LOL...that's for sure... ;o) I lived in his district for many yrs. Always voted for him...he's the man!!! I thank Our Lord for men like Tom Delay.
Strange to watch the news unfold here on FR
.
Is there another way of getting the news?
I thought the "yellow ribbon" went waaay back. I remember seeing a western movie as a kid & they sang "Around her neck she wore a yellow ribbon" at the home coming of a young cowboy. Any relation to todays yellow ribbon?
Fox better come through and show just how big this thing is. They'd better show the troops watching in Iraq and Afghanistan just how many of us are there! If Fox doesn't come through, then they have caved and become part of the MSM.
Tony Orlando owes Jimmuh Carter some royalty money for keepin those hostages in Iran so long and making his song a classic.
