Rally Eve has arrived, and things are really looking good for the event in Crawford tomorrow. An awful lot of preparation has gone into trying to make this event very worthwhile and well run.
Some of us will be at the rally site by 9AM. If others are coming early, you are invited to come on by our rally site, and lend a hand in last minute preparations. Whatever time you come, use lots of sunscreen, bring a good supply of water, and wear a sun hat , The weather is predicted to be well over 100 degrees, with high humidity. There will be big fans set up to at least stir the air a bit, but be prepared to be hot. It is, after all, August in Texas.
Once again, here is where to find us: We will be at the Community Center, which is next to the Crawford High School football stadium, on East 4th Street. Freepers and friends who are already on site will be placing directional signs around Crawford, guiding folks to our site. Of course, there's always the possibility that these signs will be removed or destroyed by the other side--but we are trying to make it easy for everyone to find our event.
At this point, we have no idea how many will show up, of course. I've seen all sorts of estimates---but from experience, I know these estimates are always hugely overblown. However many show up is how many we will have is my best estimate--LOL!
We have an excellent lineup of speakers--most of whom are family of active duty service men and women in the Middle East now, and we have at least one man who will speak, who did at least one tour in Iraq himself, but who, sadly, buried his twin brother in June--the victim of a gun battle between US Forces and the terrorists.
A group of firemen will be cooking and serving Barbequed brisket and sausage on the grounds. We are asking for a freewill donation to cover the firemen's cost when you get your barbeque.
Angelwood has provided us with some of her wonderful Freeper buttons to pass around, and freeper W04 (I can't remember all of his name--will look it up and add it later), has sent some excellent, very large banners that we hope to be able to put across the front of the stage.
Kristinn has been in Crawford since Wednesday, making all the important arrangements for procurring all things necessary for putting on a rally of this magnitude. Doctor Raoul will once again be joining us.
Hope to meet and greet a whole lot of Freepers tomorrow!
EAGLES UP!
...asked to use her shower?
As we've always known, these people have no class. But then they think they are entitled to absolutely everything and we should smile and bow while giving it to them.
Community Coffee!!! Don't leave home without it! :o) I just packed mine - one of the first things to go in my bag when I leave home.
I think we are going and I will bring the digital camera!
Woohoohoo!
I hope I run into the guy on the front of the September/October 2005 American Cowboy magazine so I can get him to autograph it!
Bump!
Just wanted to say thanks again to all of you who are going. I can feel the excitement from all y'all through my monitor, all the way to here in Minnesota!
I wish I was a Texan. I'd be there with bells on!
God bless you. Stay safe and do our troops proud!
THANK YOU for being there for all of us... and our heroes.
Thank Kristinn and Dr. Raoul too (don't want to bug them with too many pings right now).
I have tears in my eyes thinking of what you're doing.
GAWD I hope the MSM covers it so the world - and our heroes - can see we ARE behind them.
YOU DON'T SPEAK FOR US, CINDY!
God Bless You, prayers for your safety...
and
BTTT
That would need to be over a cell phone link, and cell phone service in Crawford is said to be spotty at best.
Lotta memories/history in this electronic gizmo JR's cobbled together...
Should my cell phone work out there tomorrow, my Ma' has graciously agreed to post updates to the live thread.
That cracks me up. I mean, with all the antennas out there at the ranch, one would think there'd be great reception!
Folks...you are not at the end of the earth...Waco is just a few miles away...yes your cel phone will work...did for me exactly 2 weeks ago tonight.....also sat coverage for laptops will work...how do you think the wacko's are putting out their lies??
DITTO!!
What a WONDERFUL poster!!
What a beautiful tagline. You captured our military's mission perfectly--it's so true! Thank you!
Those are a different sort of radio. They have a different purpose too. They keep the President in touch with the the military, so that he can order Nukes launched in retaliation. Or just cause somebody needs nuking. :)
But I'm a grandmother and have many more years of experience in goosebumps! Remember the photo of the Iraqi gentleman crawling to the polls on his hands and knees in gratitude? Zarqawi (sp?) has said that every person who voted in that election has a price on their head--or words to that affect, which means if we pull out there will be a slaughter to rival Cambodia's. I guess that doesn't mean anything to you, Cindy.
Thaks..have agreat time..and ping me if you remember..and don't forget..wear a hat, and drink lots of water..
Thanks..have a great time..and ping me if you remember..and don't forget..wear a hat, and drink lots of water..
It might be ending at 7pm, but I heard it in the car just now. The event in Dallas is going on here:
