man. it's near enough to lunch time that I'm relishing the thought of a real Chicago beef combo with medium peppers and potato chips...but alas, I'm in NY, and I have to tell you, the finger food here really sucks. Sure, if you want to spend a C note you can get a knockout lunch or dinner, but a good cheeseburger and fries are Oh so hard to find.
What?
You can't find a decent hot-dog or pizza?
In NY?
What about store-front Chinese? the good cheap kind that makes you crazy smelling it til you get it home or to the office to get into it?
I don't think you're looking in the right places....
What are you on crack? NY has the best pizza in the world. Of course since the Hindus and Albanians have taken over the places in Manhattan, you have to look more, but even the sh-t pizza at places like Famous Famiglia are better than the crap I used to get in Chicago (although Gino's East was very good).
I don't know where you are in NY but Red Robins abound and, for a chain, they make a pretty good cheeseburger. The Mushroom burger with swiss and steak fries is 8.95 and I think it's worth it.
Many years ago, there was a chain of burger restaurants in NYC, "Brew Burger" I think, that had pretty good burgers, along with all the beer you wanted. It was pretty good, but that was back around 1980 or so. I've got a feeling that things may have changed in 25 years.
