Katrina is emerging into the very warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico early this morning after making landfall in SE Florida, then tracking SW. Thus far, she is well ahead of schedule, leaving at least four fatalities in her wake, and well over 1 million without electricity.

She's a baby doll, she's so cute, one and a half hours old and gorgeous.
Wow!
Joyous congratulations to all!!!!
Power just came back on here in Miami Lakes. When first light comes I will check things out. So far it looks like branches down, but otherwise all is o.k.
My neighbor's garbage can has now blown down the street and his recycling bins are out on the golf course.
According to the news, there seems to be much more damage south of us.
Where is that thing... right over your head?
Oh, geez.......why didn't you just say quit mucking up my hurricane thread? ROFLMAO!
Wow, just got up 30 minutes ago...here in the Lower Keys, surprised the heck out of me to see Katrina 50 miles NE of Key West. Winds gusting to 65-70 mph and some real heavy bands of rain moving through. What a beautiful morning.
Key West has been taking bands of rain all nightand it continues this morning
the wind has not be remarkable
but when it rains there is no doubt that it is raining
.
Hey there Elle Bee, we are getting some real good gusts here on Sugarloaf Key in the last 30 minutes........right now as I type in fact........glad the power is still on.
Caffeine on board for the drive home...don't know if I'll ever sleep again...
Who drew that yellow line on the map? Could you imagine how the folks in Charlotte County would feel if it really took that path?
"Here she comes...oops...guess not. We're sending that thing back to Tampa Bay where Charley was supposed to go."
That is one crazy model path.
Good morning Florida Keys! I'll bet that was a howling surprise for you.
Congratulations!!
Oh..My! She is precious..I know you will just love having her to hug.
The wind was calm all night...and no rain.
I'm central Florida, east coast.
It's the mark of dyslexic Zorro.
LOL! He must have programmed the computer that came up with that model.
Congrats!
Hopefully, yes. However, this storm has been full of surprises since making landfall.
