Sales Comparisons (Fiscal Year ending 2004)

You trying to introduce FACTS into the conversation? Good luck(I'm on your side).

BTW the wacko environmentalists are silent in public on the "high price of gas" issue but in reality they are OVERJOYED by this, they just don't want us to know that.

And, as we all know, with limited supply, as demand goes up, so do prices.

There are quite a few folks around here that do not understand supply & demand and how it affects the market price for goods and services.

Forget about it. I like well-maintained roads.

Okay, maybe we don't ALL know it, but it is one of the basics of macroeconomics and common sense. ;)

Where is the problem of rising price?

Sales of SUVs as well as demand for gas has increased in July.

Oil trading futures on the barrel price is what's fueling the prices at the pump.

My wife bought crude on the spot market for years as a Texaco employee.

Gee, let's punish our tax system and reward the corporate thieves.

You speak as a true socialist.

Incidentally, how much money did you embezzle last month from your employer?

The concept to noble but the application is flawed.

The problem is demand is outstripping supply. By lowering the tax and reducing the cost the demand should increase, as it would for any good or service that is made cheaper through tax reductions.

That increased demand will only result in high prices for refined fuel on the open market.

I agree the gas tax is terrible and should be abolished, but the result in this enviroment will only make things worse.

Congress should not cut the gas tax. Our highways are already falling apart faster than we can repair them. The gas tax is used to repair federal highways and build new highways. I'd rather drive on good smooth roads than save $0.184 per gallon and drive on dangerous roads filled with potholes.

I'm talking about temporarily helping people out, nothing more.

No you are not: you are talking about robbing some people and giving the money to others. That is what socialists do. Are you one of them?

Nothing wrong with capitalism. But there is a lot wrong with inflating prices because of political winds.

Who has so much power as to inflate prices at will to a noticeable extent? Whose conspiracy do you have in mind?

Doesn't it just tick ya off?

Here are these libs, over half of them voted to go into Iraq to get Sadam, and now, people like Hagel clanking their jaws together because no one is paying attention to them, and this is the only way they can get on t.v. or radio...

And all the time, our enemies are agreeing with them, and here they are, our lovely senators, putting our lives in danger, oh but that's ok, they have to be in the news..

You could put all the democRATS together and you still wouldn't have a whole brain...all they know is hatred, towards everyone, even towards their own...and half of the guttless pubbies, spineless creeps as they are, John McCain and the gang, they don't care about our safety, they want to be in the media, media whores, all of them....

If clinton gets into office, hold on to your butts, she'll give the nation away and then appoint bj to the u.n.

But I guess that is what its going to take to wake everyone up.....

The builders of refineries are oil companies. The current situation has provided them with record profits.

Do you realize that refineries' profits are actually squeezed by rising CRUDE oil price --- oil that they BUY?

Were you of the same opinion when Bush cut income taxes, capital gains taxes, or the tax on corporate dividends?

Why don't you go read something --- a book preferably.

You have absolutely no clue about the subject.

And, if I am wrong and you do know, please explain how "oil trading futures on the barrel price is... fueling the prices at the pump."

Supply and demand is a fact of life. What I'm having a hard time with is that being "demand" is a project able figure and goes with our economy, war effort and international policies, how did "supply" become so manipulated?

You don't believe in capitalism?

You should pose this question to "conservatives" on this board: it's very dangerous.
