The Heart of Texas Chapter of FreeRepublic.com is holding a rally in Crawford, Texas today to show America's support for our troops, President Bush and the war on terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.
The rally will be held at noon at the Crawford Civic Center at 1000 4th Street.
Freepers are coming from near and far to join the H.O.T. Chapter in Crawford. If you live within four hours drive of Crawford, it's not too late to hit the road and get on down there.
Folks in attendance will be calling in to me, Brad's Gramma and Jeff Head with live updates from the scene. I am told that cellphone coverage in Crawford is spotty. However, it may have gotten better of late.
We'll see.
Hat's off to Basil, Doctor Raoul, The Sarce and 2ndAmendmentMama (and anyone else) who've been scrambling the past two days to make this happen. Good luck!

I read that the neighbors are taking a petition to the McClennan county meeting on Tuesday night to get them removed.

I'm sure they have good cause. These "protesters" are disrupting their lives. Hope they are successful.

Hey, I was just getting a jab at Tune. I'm a woman and am certainly not interested in your wife.

Wait, I just re-read the post. Okay, I'm sorry if I got Tune in trouble. But he really is the one to blame. If he hadn't pointed it out (and we all know what he was really saying) then I wouldn't have had to jab him a little. We know how you guys on FR are about "hot" freeperettes! LOL..and you can tell your wife that is a compliment.

They could not leave their love fest without passing many "We love President Bush" and "Support our Troops" signs, no matter which escape route they attempted to use.Ain't that the truth. They couldn't turn in any direction without seeing a sea of flags. How that must have stung them. Lolol

"No, you sat on your butt because if you couldn't play by YOUR RULES you didn't want to play. You weren't an organizer of this rally and chose not to go because it wasn't all about what You wanted! This rally isn't about Cindy...it's a rally to show support for the troops and President Bush. Noone said that you couldn't organize your own rally and run it how you wanted!!!!!" Thanks for showing up and supporting the Troups and President.

I read the CS Huffington Post update on DU (a diary of the day's events). She states that there were only 7 counter protesters on Sunday. I haven't seen the number here (I've probably just missed it), but how can she possibly get away with that?

I think there were three separate events. One with approx 100 people, Gallagher. Another with 250 people (KLIF) and another with 75-100 people (H.O.T).
But, if someone drove by about 10:30am, they might have only seen 7 people. It is one of those Michael Moore tricks, where you have a nugget of truth surrounded by a big lie.

Send this to RUSH ASAP with the place where it was taken. It might help get him to mention the FReep at Crawford on the air on Monday.
Rush mentioned the pictures and the Freepers within the first 10 minutes of his show today!

Darn we don't have FOX. Wish I could have seen you. You just have 14 minutes 59 seconds left on the 15 minute fame-o-meter.

What post number is the black woman you are asking about on? I was there. There were a couple of black women who came. This lady, the one with the grandfather, father, husband, son and grandson who had all served in the military during wartime.
To: El Gato
I didn't hear her introduced as a Reverend when she came up to speak.
She received a hearty round of applause when she said how many in her family served in the military. At first she wasn't going to speak, but then decided that she wanted too. I'm so glad she did. God bless these strong brave mothers.

That was the woman who also said the only thing she is upset about is that she's not young enough to go fight in Iraq herself.

That was the woman who also said the only thing she is upset about is that she's not young enough to go fight in Iraq herself I believe she said something closer to "if I was younger, I'd be there too" or maybe that last word was "now", or maybe "myself". Hearing is the third thing to go, maybe sooner if one is a shooter, which I am.
To: El Gato
Sean Hannity just reported, albeit a short blurb, that the Freepers were there. :)

I spoke with he repeatedly over the course of the day, starting with when I saved her hat at the Ankarlo gathering around 9, lol! She is an AMAZING woman, as are all the mothers of soldiers. She just stands out to me because I had the opportunity to speak with her many times.
What she said to me was that "If I weren't (i forget her age), I'd be over there fighting right now!" Her basic point was, as far as I understood it, that the people screaming to bring back "their babies" need to be quiet because SOME mothers would go over WITH their sons and fight for what is right.
Again, what an amazing woman.

Wow, yeah. To be honest, I'm guilty as charged. Most of the protests and rallies I've been to have shown a pattern of the lookers being with the libs for some reason, with only a few exceptions on our side. Notably, this is usually because most of the people on our side were guys, so it wasn't really a fair evaluation, but still.
When I got down to the FR rally and saw a few certain young ladies, I was floored! Nice to see some absolutely gorgeous young ladies on OUR side! I need to go to FReeps more often!
Ok, enough of that from me. I'm way off topic. Cheers!
