The Heart of Texas Chapter of FreeRepublic.com is holding a rally in Crawford, Texas today to show America's support for our troops, President Bush and the war on terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.
The rally will be held at noon at the Crawford Civic Center at 1000 4th Street.
Freepers are coming from near and far to join the H.O.T. Chapter in Crawford. If you live within four hours drive of Crawford, it's not too late to hit the road and get on down there.
Folks in attendance will be calling in to me, Brad's Gramma and Jeff Head with live updates from the scene. I am told that cellphone coverage in Crawford is spotty. However, it may have gotten better of late.
We'll see.
Hat's off to Basil, Doctor Raoul, The Sarce and 2ndAmendmentMama (and anyone else) who've been scrambling the past two days to make this happen. Good luck!
I was wondering about that
2nd or 3rd?
2nd .. it's the AP video
Never mind. Duh. ;)
Not all the pictures of people at the "Cindy rally" were liberals. My mom and sister came in from the other side and couldn't get their car by so they just walked thru the crowds. My sister even accepted a couple of bottles of water that was being passed out for me.
The guy asked me if I was there for "Cindy" (All the kids holding flags)I said no. He waited. I didn't say anything else. He then told me "well you can't park here. The "Bush" people over there". He wasn't mean, just seemed confused that I was "confused" I guess:') I started to park there anyway but I was already pegged and didn't want the rental car keyed.
I hope your daughter is doing well.
I don't know if the boy has spina bifida or not .... I was just wandering around taking pics at that point while trying to hang onto a huge flag -- I hope others post more info about the people in attendance.
It was great to see so many kids participating.
No problem. He was also being sarcastic about how their parade was going to support the troops. Remember they say they are there to support the troops. They just don't make sense. Will try to remember the sarcasm tag next time. It was a long (but fun) day yesterday.
FYI...TXBubba is a she. Blastus is my hubby. He just happened to post some under my name last night. Forgot to sign his own name to clarify.
I think ya'll did SO great---I love the pictures of the signs, the flags, the KIDS---my goodness it is wonderful to see so many kids getting involved..
I will bode well for their generation if they learn the "truth" at a young age...because this WOT could carry over until some of these kids are in higher office..
I pray not...but I just fear that these terrorists have so many of the OWN children in the madrassas being brainwashed into believing that any person that is not Muslim/Arab are supposed to be killed.
Post 1695 is Waco-K
Gato, was that African Amer. woman Rev. Joyce from Houston? If so, she's a riot. She was at the rally for the House Managers in D.C.
I brought my 4 grandchildren (a lapse of sanity, maybe:') but the 5 y/o and I talked a lot about why we were going on the way up. He couldn't remember the current president's name though. He kept telling people he was there to support the troops and George Washington.
Thank you all for your hard work for our country, the troops, and the President - my family always seems to pick FReeper days to do things. (I was gramma'ing)
LOL---one of the first thing my 5 year old granddaughter learned (other than the ABC's and 123's) was that George Washington was the 1st President of the United States...
Whenever I babysit her at my home, and the Senate is on TV--she is "forced" to learn about how the government works..LOL
She has a game of trying to figure out how a particular Senator is going to vote!!!
It was her birthday yesterday, and that is why I couldn't go to Crawford...but after reading your post...perhaps I should have taken her as a "birthday outing"...
