The Heart of Texas Chapter of FreeRepublic.com is holding a rally in Crawford, Texas today to show America's support for our troops, President Bush and the war on terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.
The rally will be held at noon at the Crawford Civic Center at 1000 4th Street.
Freepers are coming from near and far to join the H.O.T. Chapter in Crawford. If you live within four hours drive of Crawford, it's not too late to hit the road and get on down there.
Folks in attendance will be calling in to me, Brad's Gramma and Jeff Head with live updates from the scene. I am told that cellphone coverage in Crawford is spotty. However, it may have gotten better of late.
We'll see.
Hat's off to Basil, Doctor Raoul, The Sarce and 2ndAmendmentMama (and anyone else) who've been scrambling the past two days to make this happen. Good luck!
Hey sister! Looking good!
The leftists reveal their nastiness very clearly with their anti-militarism antics. They tend to embrace and celebrate anti-authority "do-your-own-thing" hippieism, and tend to get riled up at any success the military has. I remember hearing Rush say "When the U.S. military wins, the left loses."
When I know the names of the freepers in the photo I ping them to it ... other than that, I hope they jump up and post, "Hey! That's ME!"
Yes, and should be behind bars or exported.
Wouldn't 'ya know it? I can't post my pics until tomorrow.
The adapter for this gizmo is down in Galveston.
Jeff! What a wonderful thing to come home to!
I salute you all: those who went, those who stayed here and helped, and our fine troops!
The Secret Service paid us a visit, a few of us had a good chat with the fellow. I know he probably isn't allowed to play favorites but he seemed to treat us favorably.
And whoever said the Hybrid parking only comment, that was classic :).
Thanks for getting the pics up. We will try to get ours up soon.
FUNNY STORY FROM RALLY
My hubby, Blastus, was talking to some of the lefties as they drove by our rally area. One lady was looking for the Cindy rally and wanted to know if the parking lot after ours was for her. He said it was but that it was reserved for hybrid cars only. She turned around. LOL. They are so gullible.
Hey ValerieUSA - it was great meeting you! It was a very quite the afternoon!!

Live From Crawford, Texas
August 12, 2005
Power Line reader Gene Allen has been in Crawford, Texas, and sends this report on the ongoing media circus there:
I just returned from Crawford where I met some people from Israel yesterday as they fueled their motor home. They were there to drive out to the ranch as a tribute to President Bush and as an expression of gratitude for his support of Israel. Ill be back down there Tuesday-Thursday and when I return I can e-mail some photos if you wish. This town of 800 is crawling with visitors who can be divided into four general categoriestwo good, two bad.
THE GOOD:
1) People on a pilgrimage to see President Bushs ranch and downtown Crawford;
2) Police, more specifically, Secret Service, U.S. Marshals, Texas Rangers and County Sheriffs Deputies;
THE BAD:
3) Protestors; and
4) Press covering the protestors only.
The good guys fill with gas and diesel and dine on cheeseburgers at the Coffee Station where the walls are adorned with enlarged snapshots of President Bush working the crowd and dining on a Coffee Station burger. That wont happen this year, and perhaps never again because of the bad guys.
The bad guys hang at the Crawford Peace House, a dump of a house that looks like Hippie Central with dozens of cars, vans, SUVs and campers parked on the grass. Add portable toilets for ambience and you get the picture. This is the staging center for protests at the ranch nine miles up Prairie Chapel Road.

So heartwarming to hear how helpful the "good guys" are, isn't it? Thanks for being there.
Too funny. Guess I answered your question about who made the comment.
Ah Spunky thank you. I use photo bucket and that was the way they always turn out. Small.
And yes thank you, they are great girls. They have a depth of feelings for this country, the troops, and our President that I sure never had at their age. Of course my parents were democrats. :o)
LOL.
Yeah. A few of them were confused when I told them this was a Support the Troops rally. One even went booo. I think most saw the American flags and drove on. Thanks for bringing extra flags, I drove all the way without one and kicked myself.
Glad to see you got home! Had fun today. Hope to see you and son at another Freeper event soon.
