Hey, I have been posting this on the internet all night...I need everyones help please! This is the story...sorry its kinda jumbled....WKLQ is on the air right now, and they need to be stopped!
Update: I just listened to KLQ for like a nano second and they said they are still planning on killing the dog. Two children have drown in the last week in this area, and they want to bring "awareness" to parents by showing how easy it is to drown. They are not only killing a dog, but they are gaining national attention for their radio show by capitalizing on the tragic deaths of children. These people are the scum of the earth, and should be taken down!! Even if this is a stunt, it does not give them a right to make money and gain fame off the deaths of children.
PLEASE help us!! Call the station, tell them they suck...call their sponsors and tell them you will never use their products again! Just do something, please! The info and original post(s) are below. Thank you for your help!

A local radio station is DROWNING A DOG to make people "more aware of drowning". Please help me protest this and help save this poor dog (or any dog) from death!

No, I meant that for those who said a dog can't drown because most dogs can swim. That is true, but I was thinking that if someone wanted to drown a dog, they probably could if they did it by force.
Prank or no -- these nitwits should go to jail. I agree...this is stupid and irresponsible. Being a rock n roll station, some of its audience is probably pre-pubescent. Kids with nothing to do might get the idea -- hey, let's go drown a dog. Nice for the station to give them ideas.
Their website now indicates that the dog never existed, that this was all a publicity stunt to raise awareness for child safety.

Kind of... they say it was a stunt to raise awareness for child safety. Then they tell you to go adopt a dog, so it's also a stunt to raise awareness of homeless animals. But they also say they would never dream of hurting an animal, they both own dogs, so it's a stunt to raise awareness of animal cruelty. At the end, they say it's meant to propel the show. So it's a stunt to raise awareness of themselves. This much is probably true.
If you want a real reaction, send post #11 of this thread to the station's advertisers and tell them you won't patronize their businesses if they continue advertising with the station. cc the station manager.

You think no harm was done. I disagree there. But that's the way this country is. We don't give a damm that someone could even think of pulling a stunt like this AND advertise it on the air. We reward irresponsibility. We reward criminal behavior. That's why we have child molesters preying on our children. That's why we have illegal aliens pouring through our borders. Country is going to hell in a handbasket and we just say it's ok.

I was just responding to your statement that they should go to jail. Which is ridiculous. They could be fired by the station if this was a negative for the station, but it is not illegal to tell a joke (yet).
