Supreme Court nominee Judge John Roberts, while serving as the head of Hogan & Hartsons appellate division, spent about a dozen hours working on behalf of Playboy Entertainment Group in a case before the Supreme Court in 1999, his former colleague told HUMAN EVENTS.

This doesn't bother me as much as helping the homosexuals overturning a state law that was consitutional.

I am sure there will be 20 Fox News Alerts on this shocking story of a lawyer doing work for hire.

John, as he did with many clients at the firm, was available for advice from time to time, Corn-Revere told HUMAN EVENTS. In this case, he helped with moot courts in preparing me for oral argument in the case at the Supreme Court. In other words, he helped another lawyer at his firm prepare for his case.

Exactly my thought. If this was Ramrod Daily, nary a peep. But hot naked women! Call the UN!

The real question is, can Roberts get me into the pajama party at the Mansion?
To: tomahawk
I think that what does bother me is the following from Bluey's article:
Playboys case challenged the Telecommunications Act of 1996, which required cable TV operators to scramble sexually explicit content or restrict the pornography to hours when children would be unlikely to view it. Playboy won the case, 5-4, much to the consternation of conservatives. Justice Antonin Scalia wrote a biting dissent.
I think that that is a sign that Roberts might not be "in the mold of Scalia." I don't think that if Scalia were a private attorney he would have helped Playboy in any way at all.

This stuff is just pure BS. Why do some conservatives take delight in eating their own young?

Wow, it's amazing how much the left is terrified by this guy.
If you'll notice, they are trying to split off "values conservatives" from this guy. First the gay thing and now this. If you are willing to do some checking, his wife is big in the Pro-life movement. Gee, why do you think the left is running scared?

Given that the government's (weak) rationale for regulating broadcast TV does not apply to cable, a true conservative could have taken no other position.

He worked for a law firm. Part of his duties were to prepare other lawyers to present their case before the supreme court.
This doesn't tell us anything about his personal views.
If anything it tells us that he isn't likely to let his personal views interfere with his duties.
