FAMILY OF FALLEN SOLDIER PLEADS: PLEASE STOP, CINDY! Thu Aug 11 2005 12:56:21 ET
The family of American soldier Casey Sheehan, who was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004, has broken its silence and spoken out against his mother Cindy Sheehan's anti-war vigil against George Bush held outside the president's Crawford, Texas ranch.
The following email was received by the DRUDGE REPORT from Casey's aunt and godmother:
Our family has been so distressed by the recent activities of Cindy we are breaking our silence and we have collectively written a statement for release. Feel free to distribute it as you wish. Thanks Ð Cherie
In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue: Sheehan Family Statement:
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.
Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

"Am I the only one who wants thi to get Uglier? YES, you are.
This lady needs to go home. Death of a child makes people do crazy things, and she has really lost it, and does not realize all the radicals are using her. She has a problem when she won't listen to her immediate family, looneys will go home and leave her behind dwelling in selfpity and it still won't bring her son back. I don't see any of the "major" politicans standing by her side.
I don't think Cindy should expect an invite to the annual family reunion. It appears the family is sort of peaved at her.
No, Casey's grandparents. Either her parents, or (IMO more likely) Casey's father's parents.
"It's is truly Un-American to treat the mother of fallen soldier the way you people are treating her."
I thought Libs love everything Un-American: i.e 3rd World dictatorships, France,the UN
God bless this family and their courage to stand up against Cindy. That takes courage in itself. SHe is wrong in defaming her fallen son and our country.

Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my miscellaneous ping list.
Not Casey's father, brothers or sisters though. Didn't the brother want to join the miliary like Casey?
At least the grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins have some sense, honor, and respect for Casey's service.
As I have said, I hope she likes her new friends...
"decent people wont have anything to do with her anymore - not even family."
I read an interview by her and she says she has lost her family AND all her friends over this.
who's that slob in the back?
bumparooni, hubba hubba, about time. There had to be some sanity in that family ...
They're all over today. It's hilarious how they show up when manufactured stories like Cindy begin to fall apart. They so want to belieeeeeve!
It's about time
Now if only the rest of the Media would learn & report about this women
Ouch!
I wish the MSM would treat her like they do Republicans.
None. Praising, supporting or even tacit approval of GWB as a rule cannot be found in the MSM. Her comments supporting GWB and calling him a good man were in a tiny small town newspaper. It wasn't until she joined the hatred did she find celebrity.
"I read an interview by her and she says she has lost her family AND all her friends over this."
I thought I heard her say on the news that she is a "family of one". Anyone else here that? It sounded like a remark written for her by someone like Michael Moore. A take off on the Army's, "an Army of one". I feel bad for this woman's loss of her son, and at the same time, am disgusted with her behaviour.
Wouldn't it be great if President Bush actually met with THESE folks--Casey's actual, sane family, right in front of the TV cameras? Hope Rove's working on that as we speak.
